Prime Minister-designate Tammam Salam launched on Tuesday consultations with parliamentary blocs on the shape and type of the new government.

Salam kicked off the consultations with a meeting with Speaker Nabih Berri at the parliament. He later held talks with Caretaker Premier Najib Miqati, who said following the meeting that he called for the formation of a government whose main purpose will be to hold the elections.

Head of Loyalty to Resistance bloc MP Mohammed Raad on Monday said Hizbullah is seeking “stability and calm,” noting that the “national interest government” suggested by Prime Minister-designate Tammam Salam “opens the door to a serious and honest dialogue.”

“We are seeking stability and calm and we know how to evaluate and calculate things,” Raad said at a memorial service in the southern town of al-Babliyeh.

MP Mohammed Raad, head of Hizbullah's Loyalty to Resistance bloc, on Monday said the Hizbullah-led coalition is “open to all choices and options” regarding the designation of a new premier, noting that there will be no “veto” on “anyone who belongs to the patriotic camp.”

“Any new electoral law must ensure fair representation for all the Lebanese and truly achieve equal power-sharing between Muslim and Christians,” said Raad.

Head of Hizbullah's Loyalty to Resistance bloc MP Mohammed Raad stated on Sunday that Prime Minister Najib Miqati's resignation has caused “a huge vacuum in the country”, remarking that the premier has “disassociated himself from anticipated political hurricanes.”

Raad said at the one week commemoration of the death Hizbullah member Nimr Shartouni who was killed in Syria that the resignation “is not a matter of extending a public employee's term”: “The premier might have felt that he has abused all his potentials to safeguard stability in the country.”

Head of Hizbullah's Loyalty to Resistance bloc, MP Mohammed Raad, on Saturday accused what he called “the local and regional agents” of “hiding behind the fabricated trend of Takfirism (Islamist extremism) with the aim of provoking the Resistance and dragging it into a confrontation that takes the form of a Sunni-Shiite strife.”

“But they do not want the dignity of the Sunni community or the Shiite community, they rather want to weaken everyone and keep them under their hegemony so that they can continue to have the upper hand in the region,” Raad added.

Head of the Loyalty to the Resistance bloc MP Mohammed Raad defended on Thursday Foreign Minister Adnan Mansour's remarks on Syria Wednesday, saying that they adhere to the Lebanese government's policy of disassociation.

He said in a statement: “His statements accurately reflect Lebanon's official stance on Syria.”

Hizbullah on Sunday stressed that the events in neighboring Syria will not be able to “twist the hand of the Resistance.”

“Everything happening around us is aimed at besieging the camp of resistance and the forces of defiance to prevent them from being effective in the face of invaders who are dreaming of stealing our fortunes and dominating our countries,” MP Mohammed Raad, head of Hizbullah's Loyalty to Resistance parliamentary bloc, said during a commemoration ceremony in the South.

Progressive Socialist Party leader MP Walid Jumblat stated that dialogue is the only choice left for the rival political factions, reported As Safir newspaper Saturday.

He told the daily: “Dialogue lies in the best interest of all sides and the stability of the country.”

Hizbullah MP Mohammed Raad said his party was preparing for the post-Ayoub stage after it succeeded in flying the drone over Israel last month, the National News Agency reported Monday.

“The Islamic resistance is preparing for the post-Ayoub stage and let the Zionist enemy know that we won’t allow any wrongdoings,” said Raad during a ceremony on the occasion of the resistance’s Martyrs Day in the southern town of Tfahta.

Free Patriotic Movement leader MP Michel Aoun kicked off on Saturday a visit to the southern region of Jezzine where he stressed the importance of national unity and mutual coexistence.

He said: “We defend ourselves with national unity.”
