The head of the Loyalty to the Resistance bloc MP Mohammed Raad stated on Friday that the Resistance is keen on finding solutions to disputes in Lebanon through national dialogue, which it believes is the only way to end the current political divide in the country.

He said during a seminar from Moscow: “The Resistance is not deluded in believing that it can singlehandedly rule a country, even if it was in a position of power.”

Russian ambassador to Lebanon Alexander Zasypkin stressed on Thursday that his country’s stance on the Special Tribunal for Lebanon probing the assassination of ex-Premier Rafik Hariri “hasn’t changed.”

“We participated in funding it, but we are against politicizing (the tribunal),” he told An Nahar newspaper.

A delegation from Hizbullah arrived in Moscow on Wednesday in the first official visit to the Russian capital, As Safir newspaper reported.

The delegation will discuss with Russian officials the bilateral relations, issues of common interest and the developing situation in the region, mainly in Lebanon.

The head of the Loyalty to the Resistance bloc MP Mohammed Raad warned on Saturday that the Arab Spring may become victim to attempts by world powers to employ the movement for their own interests.

He said during a student graduation ceremony: “Some local or regional forces are eager to join these attempts than the actual powers themselves.”

Speaker Nabih Berri stressed on Wednesday that the will to hold dialogue in Lebanon will always defeat security instability.

He said: “Despite the tensions, Lebanon is witnessing a period of monetary and security stability.”

Speaker Nabih Berri criticized on Tuesday the international community’s “double standards” in dealing with Israel, accusing it of having hidden agendas in the Middle East.

He said before the Armenian parliament: “International decision-makers are placing all Arab regimes in the position of the accused in order to subject them to their will.”

The Progressive Socialist Party is shrugging off reports and rumors about deterioration in the relations between PSP chief Walid Jumblat and Hizbullah over his remarks on the Shiite party’s weapons.

Ministers Ghazi Aridi and Wael Abou Faour, who are loyal to Jumblat, stressed before a cabinet session held on Wednesday that ties between the Druze chief and Hizbullah officials are “good,” An Nahar daily reported.

The political and verbal dispute between the Mustaqbal bloc and Speaker Nabih Berri has forced the intervention of religious authorities in an attempt ease the tensions between the two sides.

Concerned sources told the daily An Nahar in remarks published on Friday that the escalation could serve as another obstacle in the impending debate over the funding of the Special Tribunal for Lebanon.

The head of the Loyalty to the Resistance bloc MP Mohammed Raad accused on Sunday the opposition of seeking to create unrest in Lebanon through executing a foreign agenda in Lebanon.

He said: “The opposition is still delusional in thinking that it can strip the Resistance of its arms.”

The Loyalty to the Resistance bloc condemned on Monday the statements that were recently issued against the Lebanese army, warning that such attacks may serve the goals of Lebanon’s enemies.

It said in a statement after its weekly meeting headed by MP Mohammed Raad: “The attack is part of a suspicious agenda that has been, for a while, seeking to bind Lebanon’s equation of strength.”
