Speaker Nabih Berri has said he holds onto the dialogue between Hizbullah and al-Mustaqbal movement despite the latest exchange of accusations between the two parties' officials.

Al-Liwaa daily on Tuesday quoted sources close to Berri as saying that the eight round of talks would be held under his sponsorship in Ain el-Tineh on Wednesday unless it was delayed for some reason.

The dialogue between Hizbullah and al-Mustaqbal was in limbo after the two parties' officials exchanged accusations, a few days before a new round of talks between them.

Over the weekend, Hizbullah officials Hashem Safieddine and MP Mohammed Raad lashed out at the March 14 alliance's formation of the National Council.

Head of the Loyalty to Resistance bloc, MP Mohammed Raad, stressed Sunday that Hizbullah is willing to engage in dialogue with the al-Mustaqbal movement while underlining that the party will not give up its principles in any talks.

A Hizbullah delegation held talks Wednesday with Progressive Socialist Party leader MP Walid Jumblat and stressed “the need to elect a new president as soon as possible.”

“The atmospheres are positive and we're all seeking to pull Lebanon out of the current dilemma with the least cost possible,” MP Mohammed Raad announced after the meeting with Jumblat at his Clemenceau residence.

Hizbullah official Mohammed Raad called on Saturday for further coordination between security agencies in the fight against terrorism, stressing that jihadists of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) will not find safe haven in Lebanon.

“The security developments in Lebanon require discreet, accurate and serious followup,” MP Raad, the head of Hizbullah's Loyalty to Resistance parliamentary bloc said.

MP Mohammed Raad, the head of Hizbullah's Loyalty to Resistance bloc, on Friday described the behavior of lawmakers boycotting parliamentary sessions to elect a new president as a “constitutional” right.

“MPs are addressing the issue of electing a president according to their constitutional, legal, political, human and national right,” Raad said during a Hizbullah ceremony in the southern town of Jbaa.

“Only a candidate who is keen on the resistance ... and who really wants to build a state of law and institutions can reach the presidential seat,” Raad said during a Hizbullah ceremony in the southern town of al-Kfour.

Head of Loyalty to Resistance bloc MP Mohammed Raad stressed Monday that the country's next president must “embrace the resistance and must be aware of its role and importance.”

“Our people and their representatives (in parliament) have the right to choose the president who can preserve the resistance's achievements, the unity of the Lebanese, national sovereignty and independence,” Raad said during a memorial service in the southern town of Deir al-Zahrani.

Head of the Loyalty to Resistance bloc MP Mohammed Raad stated on Friday that some of the presidential candidacies could hamper the upcoming elections, pointing to the necessity of choosing a president who “preserves and defends the resistance’s choice.”

Raad also voiced hopes that the presidential elections are held on time.

Head of Hizbullah's Loyalty to Resistance bloc MP Mohammed Raad on Sunday called on the new cabinet to “exert efforts to achieve what it has considered as priorities: fighting terrorism and holding the presidential vote within its constitutional timeframe.”

He also urged the cabinet, which adopted a consensus policy statement Friday after a month of political wrangling, to “shoulder the responsibility of alleviating the dire living conditions of the Lebanese.”
