Report: PSP, Hizbullah, AMAL Agree to Halt Spread of Kidnapping Incidents
إقرأ هذا الخبر بالعربيةThe Progressive Socialist Party, Hizbullah and AMAL movement agreed to halt any attempt to spread the kidnapping of Syrian nationals to other areas in Lebanon, security sources told the pan-Arab daily al-Hayat on Thursday.
The three parties exerted efforts on Wednesday to block the road on moving the abduction incidents to other regions in the country, denying that Syrian nationals were being kidnapped in Mount Lebanon, in particular, in Shouf region where leader MP Walid Jumblat resides.
Al-Meqdad clan kidnapped on Tuesday over 20 Syrian nationals, who allegedly belong to the Free Syrian Army, in tit-for-tat kidnappings after the FSA detained Hassan Salim al-Meqdad earlier this week.
The family’s military wing warned that they can reach Aley, Tripoli and Iqlim al-Kharroub, saying that they have a bank of targets in Lebanon and capable of reaching regional targets.
According to the National News Agency, the army and the Internal Security Forces took heavy security measures near the houses and palaces of Saudi and Qatari officials in Aley.
The security forces set up fixed checkpoints and carried out security patrols.
On Tuesday, Hizbullah denied a video aired by al-Arabiya news channel claiming that the FSA detained a member of Hizbullah identified as Hassan Salim al-Meqdad.
The family of 39-year-old Hassan also ruled out that he is a member of the party, revealing that he works at Jammal Trust Bank and headed to Syria a year and a half ago to resolve some financial problems.
Why didn't they agree to lift all political cover of these criminals kidnapping people and make a lesson of them by prosecuting them to the furthest extent of the law? These are militias condoning militia practices.
It is disgusting to even comment.... a failed state, a lawless statelet of hizb of terror and its supporters. Can write pages and pages about the disgust people feel as a result of the recent events, but there is no use! We need a miracle to save this country......
Enough, wayn ba3dak, all events/kidnappings which took place during the last 48hrs are under the hezb/amal approval, protection and support. This is how you create a "family military wing" overnight. Ask yourself why the army did not intervene on airport road yesterday and try to reopen it? The question is, how far can you go with looters and thugs who are protected by the hezb and others?
An often forgotten detail about anything tit-for-tat: when "an eye for an eye" is the basic rule, everyone ends up blind. Nice solution.
Shab Lebanon will always pay a price ,because we have scum like Amal and Hezb Iran ,it is about time we all unite and teach them a lesson or fuck them off to Iran,
The Syrian war is bound to spread and eat everything in its wake. The rational thing to do here is for all the Lebanese factions to refrain from involving themselves into a war that’s not theirs. Huzbullah in general should act wisely by not burning its hands in the Syrian war because it might pay dearly when the regime falls which is eventual and certain. While time is not on its side, Huzbullah could at least try to extends the severed bridges with the FSA and plan for the era after Assad which is at an rate coming and soon as I may add. Huzbullah should also understand that his grip on Lebanon will be lost when the Sunnis take over Syria. It’s a realty that no one connives. At least, we could as Lebanese finally work for the sake of our future not for fulfilling agendas of the others that so far destroyed us both economically and politically. The Lebanese have to unite all in one away from religious feuds.
Ziad El Rahbani had a sketch on the Lebanese people that reflects exactly the Lebanese culture
We are to be blamed for all what happens to this country becauze we set the ground for it
These are signs of weakening in Hezballah control, we will see more and more local groups
Mikati, Nasrallah, Aoun, Hariri, Berri, Jumblat, Geagea, Gemayel, etc. all please follow Michel Samaha and go to Hell. You and only you are responsible for making Lebanon a lawless country.
