Berri says Lebanon won't accept Israel solution at its expense
Lebanon's stance on the ongoing war is "clear: a ceasefire and the implementation of Resolution 1701," Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri has said.
"Is there a reasonable person who believes that we would accept a settlement or solution that would achieve Israel's interest at the expense of Lebanon and its sovereignty?" Berri added, in an interview with al-Joumhouria newspaper.
"In the end, this battlefield will certainly have the final say," the Speaker went on to say.

Put Berri in Jail now! Enough hypocrisy! Enough acting as HizbIran spokesman! Enough of this dinosaur killing Lebanon unique opportunity for permanent peace and prosperity! Implementing UN 1559 will immediately insure withdrawal of Israeli army and open flood of aid to army and country. Only then diaspora will return in mass to transform Lebanon into the Switzerland of the Middle East. Hizbollah is nothing but Iranian Brigade (Iran Foreign Legion) destroying Lebanon to benefit Iran Tyrants. Hizbollah is a threat to civil peace even if only one arm hideout remains. Army must completely disarm Hizb and put its leaders in jail for being foreign agents. Hizb is not defending Lebanon but its Iranian rockets and tunnels while Lebanon is being destroyed. All Hizb properties must be confiscated to help displaced and all politicians that allowed its arms and occupation should be brought to justice. No 2-state solution without disarming Hizb & Hamas, if Berri truly cares about Palestinian!
