The Israeli army said 30 soldiers have been wounded in the past twenty four hours on the Lebanese border as it launched targeted raids against Hezbollah, expanding its ground operations along the country's coastline after deploying more troops.

Hezbollah said it targeted troops in Labouneh near al-Naqoura, where U.N. peacekeepers are headquartered.

In a statement, Hezbollah said its fighters attacked an Israeli force that "infiltrated from behind the UNIFIL forces position in Labouneh", forcing it to withdraw and inflicting casualties among the soldiers.

Hezbollah had accused the Israeli army of using UNIFIL forces as human shields, and said its fighters will not attack the troops who recently moved behind U.N. peacekeeping positions near Lebanese border villages.

Hezbollah also targeted soldiers in Metula in north Israel and in the Lebanese border town of Maroun al-Rass.
