The Syrian regime and Hizbullah have agreed on resolving all the obstacles that could cause the collapse of the current cabinet in an attempt to safeguard the government until the parliamentary elections in 2013.

Sources told the pan-Arab daily al-Hayat that the Syrian leadership and Hizbullah are seeking to guarantee the parliamentary majority during the 2013 elections in cooperation with PM Najib Miqati and without Progressive Socialist Party leader MP Walid Jumblat.

“Jumblat confirmed himself as a centrist as he is moving away from the Syrian regime and re-approaching the March 14 forces,” the sources noted.

If the current cabinet collapsed, the parliamentary majority would not be able to reorganize since Jumblat would not be included in the coalition, they added.

A March 8 source told the newspaper that Hizbullah is trying to appease the Free Patriotic Movement to preserve their relations, but the disagreements on the new electoral law is serving the March 14 opposition in its attempt to recover the popular votes.

With all what is happening in Syria, a country on the verge of collapse, the Syrians have still time to mingle and plan the future of Lebanon??? It looks like the plan is to give away the real Syria to their opposition, and turn Lebanon into a new little Syria.
Shame on our politicians, they are nothing but puppets, and they will always be.

2013?!?!? hahaha you must be joking.. lebanon in all likelihood would be at civil war come 2013 unless hizbustan gives up its weapons (highly unlikely), unfortunately there will be new lebanon(s) by 2013, one in the north for sure. The rules of the game are changing fast, monopoly on weapons will be history and everyone will be armed by 2013. Hizbustan needs to know that the rules of the game are changing..and not in its favor!
