Hizbullah was allegedly behind the failed attempt in May to assassinate Moshe Kimchi, Israel’s consul in the Turkish city of Istanbul, Italian daily Corriere della Sera has reported.

“Hizbullah was seeking to assassinate consul Kimchi to avenge the liquidation of Iranian nuclear scientist Massoud Ali Mohammadi at the hands of the Israelis,” the newspaper quoted sources in Washington as saying.

Turkish intelligence agencies had initially blamed the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) for the attempt on the Israeli consul’s life before realizing that Hizbullah was behind the bomb attack, the sources added.

Meanwhile, Turkish intelligence sources denied the Italian report and accused Israel of waging “distortion campaigns in several newspapers every once in a while.”

Other Turkish sources also dismissed the Italian report as unfounded, saying it was fabricated by Israel. The sources noted that three months before the blast, Israel had shut down the its embassy and consulate in Turkey on fear of a possible attack by Hizbullah.

Islam should rise against this radical terrorist group and condemn their terrorist activities against brother Moslem from Suni sect, like many were killed in Iran, Iraq, Syria and Lebanon

The "Authorities I Charge" in Syria also denied the massacre of civilians in Syria, so we should not read and believe what is happening in Syria. How Naive !!!!

"But what is the point of publishing such an article when the news was denied by the authorities in charge"......

What a simplistic point of view. By the same token, we should not believe that Syria, Iran, and for that matter Israel killed and are killing civilians coz their authorities in charge also denied it.

I am not sure who is biased: you or Naharnet...?

Turkey denies it hence that settles everything yet naharnet chose to turn a rumour in to a story. But if this lie was true, then we can only say too bad they didnt go thrue with it. And as for those idiots who bring in syria in to this, keep in mind, that turkey is a democracy while the bashar regime is a dictator regime. Turkey has no reson to lie about this. But then again, im trying to explain something obvious to fools who are so obsessed with their hate that they can not even look at things objectively. Your so blinded by your hate that you cant even see that your not better than the asad regime when it comes to lies and hypocrisy. You will believe any lie as long as it suits you.
