At least 26 people, including several foreigners, were killed and 56 injured in a suicide bomb and gun attack claimed by Al-Shabaab militants on a popular hotel in southern Somalia, a top regional official said Saturday. 

At least 15 people died when a bomb exploded on a busy street and ripped into a nearby restaurant in Somalia's capital on Thursday, medics said.

At least 11 people were wounded when gunmen set off explosions and stormed government ministries in Somalia's capital Saturday in an attack claimed by the Al-Shabaab Islamist group, police said.

At least nine people were killed and several wounded when a car loaded with explosives blew up near a mall in a busy market in the Somali capital on Monday, police said.

"The blast occurred close to Mogadishu mall and it has caused death and destruction. Nine civilians were confirmed dead and several others are wounded," police officer Ahmed Moalin Ali said.

Seven people were killed Saturday in a double car bomb attack claimed by the jihadist Shabaab group near the presidential palace in the Somali capital Mogadishu, police said.

Six people were killed and another 16 injured when a car bomb exploded outside a local government office in Mogadishu on Monday, Somali police and rescue workers said.

"Our ambulance teams have collected the dead bodies of six people," said Abdiqadir Abdirahman, director of the city's Aamin Ambulance service.

More than 20 people were killed Sunday in a suicide truck bombing in the Somali capital Mogadishu, police said, in a fresh strike claimed by the al-Qaida-linked Shabaab group.

At least 25 soldiers died in weekend fighting between rival Puntland and Galmudug regional forces in the divided Somali town of Galkayo, military officials on both sides said Monday.

Six people were killed Sunday in a gun and car-bomb assault on a police building in the center of the Somali capital that also left seven assailants dead, Security Minister Abdirasak Omar Mohamed said.

At least 13 people were killed on Tuesday in twin bombings near U.N. and African Union buildings adjoining Mogadishu's airport, police said, in what the jihadist Shabaab group claimed as a suicide attack.
