Four rocket-propelled grenades (RPGs) fired from Syrian territory landed in a village in the Bekaa region of Hermel.
The rockets landed in the village of al-Msharrafeh and were fired during a clash in the Syrian town of Qusayr.

A joint Lebanese-Palestinian investigation committee stressed on Thursday the importance of cooperating with the army and facilitating its task in maintaining peace, stability and security.
“The matter falls in the interest of both the Palestinian and the Lebanese people,” the committee said in a statement.

“The land between Lebanon and Syria in al-Qaa and the northern border are poorly demarcated,” Khoury said in an interview with al-Liwaa newspaper on Thursday.

Interior Minister Marwan Charbel stated that some “saboteurs” are exploiting the poor humanitarian situation in Lebanon in order to create unrest in the country, reported the pan-Arab daily Asharq al-Awsat on Thursday.
He told the daily: “A political decision has been taken by the highest authorities to end the phenomenon of blocking roads because Lebanon is passing through extraordinary circumstances.”

Defense Minister Fayez Ghosn stressed on Thursday that the army is exercising self-control in dealing with all the security incidents across the country.
“It is not acceptable to confront the army or target its prestige, this matter is indisputable and settled,” Ghosn told As Safir newspaper.

President Michel Suleiman is expected to travel to France at the end of June or in early July to hold talks with his French counterpart Francois Hollande, reported the daily An Nahar on Thursday.
It said that the visit will serve as an opportunity for the president to mark a new beginning of Lebanese-French ties, which was suggested by Hollande himself.

Progressive Socialist Party leader MP Walid Jumblat accused the Free Patriotic Movement of being responsible for the deteriorating electricity situation in Lebanon, reported As Safir newspaper on Thursday.
He told As Safir: “The FPM does not want to benefit from Arab funds and it does not want to grant the private sector a role in tackling this sector.”

Libyan National Transitional Council chief Mustafa Abdel Jalil revealed that the investigations in the disappearance of revered Lebanese Shiite Imam Moussa al-Sadr and his two companions revealed important information.
“The probe carried out by the Libyan judiciary in the case unveiled important details for the first time,” Abdel Jalil told al-Arabiya channel.

A number of young men on Wednesday blocked all the roads leading to Tripoli’s al-Nour Square to demand the release of the rest of the Islamist prisoners, after authorities freed seven Lebanese Islamists on Tuesday and two Palestinian Islamists on Wednesday.
The city center was witnessing severe traffic jam as a result of the move, state-run National News Agency reported.
