Hizbullah and AMAL stressed on Saturday the importance of maintaining security and stability in Lebanon, away from any tension between all the Lebanese foes, amid the increasing rate of security incidents in the country.
AMAL and Hizbullah’s representatives also urged in a statement, following a coordination meeting, all parties to voice their support to the national role played by the army as it remains the only guarantee for unity in the country.

A Lebanese judicial security committee tasked with following up the disappearance of revered Lebanese Shiite Imam Moussa al-Sadr and his two companions demanded on Saturday Libyan authorities not to disclose any information about the carried out investigations.
The committee described statements by Libyan National Transitional Council chief Mustafa Abdel Jalil regarding the case as inaccurate.

President Michel Suleiman held talks on Saturday with Prime Minister Najib Miqati who briefed him on his recent visit to Brazil.
According to the National News Agency, Miqati informed Suleiman on his meetings with officials in Rio de Janeiro and the Lebanese community there.

Prime Minister Najib Miqati slammed allegations that he is arming Salafist movements in the northern city of Tripoli, saying that such accusations are politically motivated.
He said before reporters during his trip to Brazil: “I support the mentality of openness, knowledge, and forgiveness, not that of arms or war.”

Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea renewed his rejection of the national dialogue sessions, saying that he is seeking serious talks, while the current discussions are bound to fail, reported As Safir newspaper on Saturday.
He told the newspaper: “Serious and immediate government action is the substitute for the dialogue.”

The national dialogue is set to resume on Monday with the defense strategy being the main topic of discussion, reported al-Liwaa newspaper on Saturday.
Mustaqbal parliamentary bloc circles told As Safir newspaper on Saturday that the bloc is seeking to only discuss at the all-party talks the possession of arms outside the authority of the state.

A demonstration was held on Friday by a number of Syrian refugees and Lebanese nationals in the northern city of Tripoli in support of the Syrian revolution, reported the pan-Arab daily Asharq al-Awsat on Saturday.
It added that they launched a weekly campaign to expel the Syrian Ambassador to Lebanon Ali Abdul Karim Ali in protest against “the massacres being committed in Syria.”

After his talks with Zahle and Bekaa Greek Catholic Archbishop Issam Darwish, Aoun said that the meeting was important in the light of the events witnessed in Syria and the Middle East region, mainly because the number of Christians is decreasing in Palestine, Iraq, Syria and probably Lebanon.”

A youth managed to escape his kidnappers a day after being abducted in the Bekaa region of Baalbek, reported the National News Agency on Friday.
It said that Mohammed Tareq Makkiyeh returned home at around 1:30 p.m. on Friday after succeeding in escaping his abductors.

The son of Herbal expert Zein al-Atat was kidnapped by four masked gunmen in the Mdeirej-Sofar road that links Beirut to the eastern Bekaa valley, the National News Agency reported on Friday.
NNA said that Ibrahim al-Atat was driving his Hummer along with his cousin Mahmoud al-Atat and his friend Wael Abdul Khaleq at around 8:30 pm Thursday when four gunmen riding a black Mercedes four-wheeler with tined widows and no license plate blocked his way and whisked him out of his vehicle.
