Britain Dismisses Complaint to ICC over Iraq 'Abuse'

Britain said Sunday it was already dealing with cases of alleged abuse by its troops in Iraq after human rights lawyers sent a dossier to the International Criminal Court.

The Ministry of Defense said action through the ICC in The Hague was unnecessary because the cases were either already under investigation or had been dealt with through various courts and processes.

Jarba Says 'Friends of Syria' Agree No Role for Assad and Family in Country Future

Ahmad Jarba, the leader of Syria's opposition National Coalition, said Sunday that the U.S.-led "Friends of Syria" grouping had agreed that President Bashar Assad and his family will have no role in the country's future.

Jarba did not announce whether or not the opposition would take part in peace talks with representatives of Assad's regime due to start next week in Switzerland.

Report: French Diplomatic Delegation Heads to Beirut to Discuss Presidential Elections

France is exerting efforts with the five permanent members of the United Nations Security Council in order to highlight to Lebanese leaderships the dangers of failing to hold the presidential elections, reported the Kuwaiti al-Anbaa daily on Sunday.

Bodies from Crashed U.S. Chopper Recovered in Britain

The bodies of four members of the U.S. Air Force whose helicopter crashed while training in eastern England were recovered from marshland on Thursday, police said.

Their bodies were taken to a nearby hospital by private ambulance for a post-mortem examination, Norfolk police said.

Four U.S. Military Dead in British Helicopter Crash

A U.S. military helicopter crashed while on a low-level training exercise in eastern England on Tuesday, killing all four crew members, military officials announced.

"A U.S. Air Force HH-60G Pave Hawk helicopter crashed at about 6.00pm (1800 GMT) today near Salthouse on the Norfolk coast," said a statement issued by the 48th Fighter Wing, which is based at nearby Royal Air Force (RAF) station Lakenheath.
