Roknabadi Describes Indictment as ‘Politicized’, Rules Out Israeli Attack

Iranian Ambassador Ghazanfar Roknabadi described the Special Tribunal for Lebanon indictment in the assassination of former Premier Rafik Hariri as “politicized,” saying he supports a “non-politicized” international justice.

“We are keen that no one in Lebanon objects that Israel is the enemy, despite the differences over the techniques of the resistance,” Roknabadi told As Safir newspaper on Monday.

He urged the Lebanese parties to “understand (each other), (launch a national) dialogue and unite.” He stressed the importance of the “democratic process between the Lebanese.”

Asked about the bilateral relations between Lebanon and Iran, the ambassador said: “We have signed with Lebanon 26 development, trade, health, cultural and other agreements that we are supposed to begin working on this year.”

Roknabadi ruled out the possibility of an Israeli attack on Lebanon or Iran. “The resistance is gearing up and the enemy hasn’t completed its preparations.”

“The enemy (Israel) is thinking about evading a war instead of launching one.”

Concerning the situation in Syria, Roknabadi told the newspaper that President Bashar Assad began the reforms even before there was an international demand to implement them. “We see fake armed groups that are after sedition… Syria is targeted because it supports the resistance and it is an Iranian ally,” he said.

The Iranian ambassador noted that his country is satisfied economically and politically “which enables it to protect its sovereignty and confront the western sanctions through self-sufficiency in most areas.”

Roknabadi rejected some statements hinting that there’s “fear that Iran wants to dominate or threatens the region or the Persian Gulf.”

“U.S. and Israel are pumping money (into the region) to create a scare from an Iranian Persian rule, or Faqih rule… to stir sectarian strife in the region,” he said.

Notice how this Iranian guy uses the same word to describe the STL as does Nasrallah "politicized". Same word. Did he adopt Nasrallah's language, or did Nasrallah adopt the language of Iran in describing the STL?

And how nice that Iran supports the Lebanese government! Really? It funds and trains an armed brigade of the Iranian army on Lebanese soil, outside of the command and control of the Lebanese government risking the lives, property and denigrating Lebanese sovereignty in the process, all in the name of promoting Iranian national interests, and this guy has the balls to state, in public, that he supports the Lebaense state??

Lebanese politics are Machiavellian, but now, with Hezbollah in control, it is Orwellian as well. The double speak has to be unwound in order to catch any meaning out of this preposterous statements.

@shab yes...but:
Remove Hezbollah, and Israel will remove itself and we can live in peace like Jordan or Egypt.
Each one minding it's own business.
We are the weak ones fighting Syria's war (they should be the one fighting for their Golan) and paying the hard price! We are the idiots who want to liberate Palestine, anhilate Israel, and keep on living by the weapons...
If we get ridd of HA, we'll get ridd of Israel. The contrary is not possible.

Mowaten, reading your posts , i can't ignore the conclusion that if we'll take your brain and transplant it into a chicken it will go by itself to the slaughter house..
At least if you comment with your rubbish let it be at least cloth to the truth.
Not what your Imam transplant in your head in the mosque each Friday.
If the "Zionists" attached the Palestinian who had no weapons so how come the "Zionist Entity" was attached by 7 armies and how did we lost 1 pct of the young nation's population.
You are talking about filth? if not us you should have killed each other much more than you don these days.
Israel is your excuse for ignorance corruption, unemployment, low income, poor growth, The incitement against Israel is only because your governments would like to cover their corruption.
The funny thing is that the Israeli Palestinian has much more rights than they get from any other Arabian countries (their brothers Ya'ani) .
No wonder you hate us so much.

@ Mowaten, you know nothing of patriotism!
Where is the resistance? Where are their attacks? Where are their attempts to liberate the south?
The term "resistance" itself is a joke! They are not resisting at all. They are useless as a resistance. They are just a tool in the hands of Syria and Iran, and an excuse to get money from them. At this pace, they will need 3 Million years to eventually liberate something!

"The contrary is not possible" you say? We shall see about that.
Your people haven't thrown a grenade in 5 years! hahahahahaha...
Sorry, let me rephrase that, your people haven't thrown a grenade AT ISRAEL in 5 years (I almost forgot they used their grenades vs Lebanese citizens in 2008).
