The Lebanese army said Saturday that it has arrested two people for check scam and fraud, and raided a depot in the Shouf district with three stolen vehicles in it.

After receiving several complaints of scam operations, a military intelligence patrol arrested Issam Saadallah Daher, a Lebanese, and Syrian Omar Abbas on April 23 and 25, an army communique said.

It said the suspects had carried out broad scam operations whose victims were both Lebanese and Gulf citizens.

As part of its fight of organized crime, an army patrol also seized on Friday three stolen vehicles from a depot in the area of Dohat al-Hos in Aramoun, the communique said.

The vehicles, a Honda CRV and two Toyota FJ Cruisers, were handed to the Internal Security Forces, it said, adding that the military is searching for the assailants.

Hope they'll be returned to their rightful owners.

My cuz sold his FJ cruiser because of this.... Too afraid they'd steal it to use it in Syria. Living a paranoid's life is routine in Lebanon.
