Lebanese Soldier Indicted for Collaborating with Israel
إقرأ هذا الخبر بالعربيةMilitary Examining Magistrate Imad al-Zain demanded on Tuesday the death penalty for a Lebanese army soldier for collaborating with Israel, the sate-run National News Agency reported.
According to the news agency, the Lebanese soldier, identified by his initials as D. G., fled the military service in 2009 and investigations revealed that he was collaborating with Israel in 2005-2006.
Zain issued an arrest warrant in absentia and referred him to the military court.
Also Tuesday, the military court postponed to April 26 the trial of former security officer Brig. Gen. Adib al-Alam and his wife, who were arrested in 2010 for collaborating with Israel.
What about all those hezbollah terrorists collaborating with Iran/Syria?
I would rather have Israel on our side than Iran/Syria. Compare both sides...look at which has progressed in the past 50 years!
I agree with you mate ... As you can see those who always look at Israel as the devil are really brainwashed people who are afraid to think outside the box... Let them think the world is flat
havent seen you in a while!
your sidenote should be: why is fayez karam and others getting off without the same punishment ;)
Flamer- is that an admission that you had an Isreali collabortor among your ranks. I mean let's pause and think about it for a second. There had to be a reason for meeting with the enemy (never a good one). It surely wasn't for shits and giggles.
the filthy zionist scum listed me and other patriotic lebanese as radicals. and than he lists CIA media site as some source of information, hillarious.
and than he wants to present some forms of treason as no treason.
eh hbela ba3ed jabal
read well. its your patriotic friend ft who is saying some forms of treason are no treason ;)
Yes i did man ;) same thing happened in this forum as in syria. moderate voices dont step up, therefore radicals see a gap and fill it. (karim , jabal and the likes)
anyway, in reference to the comments, i would say you and FT then have something to discuss.
is treason in degrees? (which means nothing is wrong with releasing some of the convicted traitors if they just slightly betrayed the country)
or is collaboration of any sort considered treason?
is there a treason hierarchy? i mean the relation between lebanese and israelis is regulated quite strictly.
you can refer to this list:

Our biggest ennemy is Assad. Not Israel. The country that infiltrated our gouvernment, and placed proxies in key ministries is Syria, not israel. the country that planned attacks on lebanese soil through Michel Samaha is Syria. The country that beat up Rafic Hariri before killing him is Syria. The country that supports undermining the state of Lebanon through illegal weapons is Syria. The country that puts red lines against disarming palestinians in lebanon is Syria. The country who claims choosing our presidents is Syria. The country that thrives on our being weak is Assad's Syria.
Israel, the racist the cancer of the region, is not interested in us, it sees us like a mosquito it could crush if it weren't stopped by world powers. (sorry hassan about your teleguided plane-toy). Israel is interested in growing its IT industry, its financial services industry, and in stealing palestinian lands. So stop focusing on Israel, and start focusing and protecting us from Syria.
and mowaten, pls dont give me the 2006 argument. You know full well it was caused by the adventures of HA (who knows better now)
I wish our country would do for it's people half of what Isreal does for their people. Did anyone ever stop and think about that? does anyone ever look at how much money Isreal spends on education? how great their hospital are? what kind of medicare they have in place for their people? their public tansportation system, their trash removal system, electricity, water, oh the list can go on forever. yeah who needs any of that? we have the all mighty hizb TZ defending us and the all holy Aoun fighting for our rights. WHAT A JOKE!
the filthy zionist scum changes many nicknames in order to promote illusion that there are lebanese who would like to cooperate with them
those who did are punished for that.
My loyalty is to my country you mindless sheep! my hatred is an honor that I wear with pride. No self respecting patriot should show loyalty to anyone before their country. as for your comment not so mowaten- I never supported the enemy and never have. before you make such stupid baseless accusations, please enlighten the rest of us on when I have ever supported the enemy? as a matter of FACT I support my country a hell of lot more than you. It is my duty to hold everyone accountable for not doing their job. when you two little piss ants become patriotic enough to do that, then you and only then can you question what I said. STUPID BLIND SHEEP! I don't know who you two little dipsticks think you are to question my loyalty to MY COUNTRY!
Lebanonfirst, i agree with the first part of your post. But I do beleive that GMA, though clumsy politically, is trying to do a good for Lebanon.
Lebanon_first- Unfortunately I don't see Aoun as a public servant. I see him as a self serving maniac working in the public service arena. Unfortunately all the truly pubilc servants have been killed with the help of self serving Lebanese with no respect for life or their country.
i agree (on all points)
but thats what happens when you dissociate yourself. you cant blame others for stepping in, and its usually assholes who step in when no one else will.
for the treason part, i guess its not black and white, but a huge gray zone and open for interpretation, as is everything else in lebanon.
now when someone is caught spying for israel, we will give them a quiz:
on a scale of 1 to 10, how much were you collaborating with israel?
Who cares? Sign the peace treaty and let the filthy militia drown in their majous hot air nonsense and their useless weapons. Maybe their members will take an education and a job and start to live civilized.
most?
you cannot be less civilized than zionist.
even our misguided wahabi youth in the north could not be so primitive
jabal- if you were educated your vocabulary would consist of more than filthy, scum and zionist. An educated person would at least be able to hold a conversation once in their lifetime without the use of those words or something similar.
I doubt it--they and their allies have demonstrated their 'civility' by kidnappings, stealing electricity and other resources, and by where and how they live. Why are dahayeah, the bakaa and the south more like slums than places where educated people reside?
Now indoctrinated, that's one thing--educated and civilized, you will have a hell of a time convincing others of that.
the filthy zionist scum pleads for peace but you wont get it.
all you gonna get is more rockets if you don't pull out of all our territories
im sure you dont mind calling the takfiris and salafis in syria ---holes ;)
politics is a game. there are different people and thus different opinions, and not one will win. no matter how strong one side is, they will never impose their will on others. this has been historically proven.
therefore anyone who isnt willing to see that and compromise, ie radicals on both sides, is a hole of some sort to me.
second, lebanon and its laws in this respect are anything but transparent. the degree of culpability is always based on who you know and what party backs you. if i am found with an israeli sms on my phone, i think i am very likely to do a couple of years in jail (before trial or anything). no need to kid ourselves here
