Jumblat, Raad Stress Need for Dialogue to Establish Stability in Lebanon
إقرأ هذا الخبر بالعربيةProgressive Socialist Party leader MP Walid Jumblat stated that dialogue is the only choice left for the rival political factions, reported As Safir newspaper Saturday.
He told the daily: “Dialogue lies in the best interest of all sides and the stability of the country.”
“I was the first who called for dialogue among the Lebanese and Speaker Nabih Berri called for all-party during the most difficult circumstances in 2006,” he remarked.
The talks eased tensions in Lebanon and its decisions enjoyed the agreement of all participants, noted the MP.
“We are passing through a critical situation and impossible preconditions will not yield any results,” Jumblat said.
“To those banking on regional changes, I assure them that they will not favor any side,” he stressed.
Meanwhile, the head of the Loyalty of the Resistance bloc MP Mohammed Raad told As Safir: “We must positively approach President Michel Suleiman's call for dialogue.”
“Our positivity stems from our conviction that stability in Lebanon require all sides to beg for dialogue in order to reach common ground to protect the country against conspiracies,” he noted.
Suleiman had called the members of the all-party talks to a session on January 7.
The March 14-led opposition had announced its boycott of dialogue in light of its failure to tackle Hizbullah's possession of arms among other issues.
The Phalange Party had recently declared however that it would attend the session, explaining that it does not seek to “boycott” Suleiman.
It is good to wake up to some comedy,
Raad, HA, dialogue--what do they want to talk about beside fear mongering, ie Israel (foreign conspiracies)? They need to offer an olive branch, because of their actions in the past regarding national dialogue, it would be a waste of time. Add to that, their threats of late, and you have to believe that they would take the talks seriously.
the hizbushaitan thugs want the dialogue to set their conditions on us and nothing else.
this is why there will be no dialogue.
geha you are a broken record that would see Lebanon embroiled in civil war out of your hatred.
I admit I have hatred for iran and their cronies in Lebanon executing the Iranian agenda, and I am proud of it as a Lebanese.
but for civil war, look somewhere else: it is these thugs that are threatening with civil war each and every day.
so adjust your understanding.
@ geha
Sorry but I do not see you promoting any plausible solution to the current impasse. Hateful provocations and absolute dogmatic positions can only lead to the escalation of violence.
then you are not reading properly!
it is imperative that hizbushaitan hands over the weapons to the army, as the sole entity that has the right to bear arms.
hizbushaitan has to break all ties with iran and return under Arab/Lebanese umbrella.
Hizbushaitan has to deliver all wanted people by the law.
...
all the above has been clearly stated and advised through my various comments.
@ geha
LOL ! And what about all the other militias and mobs? As a good will gesture Hariri should disarm his militia eh geha?
... So they can keep control of the decision making in the country... And keep their illegal arms as well as their terror gang to rule it...
hezbis seems to desperately want a dialogue because they fear their own future... and want to negotiate. if they were so sure of their supremacy they wouldn t cry out for a "dialogue" ! lol
this is one reason for their request for dialogur, but the other side of it is that they do not want to give up their weapons or control of the government, and that at any cost.
thus the second main reason for calling for dialogue is to put forth these conditions on m14 threatening them with a devastating civil war.
now since they work under Iranian agenda, they do not care much about the destruction of Lebanon.
the reason they want dialogue, is because of all else (aside from power), HA want legitimacy in the eyes of Arabs, and not to be seen as Iranian puppets. They were really happy during the Arab spring and somehow wanted to claim that they were the inspiration for the overthrow of the these governments, that is, until it hit Syria. In this instance, they took the stand of the oppressive government and their words became hollow.
As for dialogue, this is only a PR stunt by HA. They won't agree to anything and this statement "The talks eased tensions in Lebanon and its decisions enjoyed the agreement of all participants, noted the MP.", lacks the part where it says the HA decided to cross the border and kidnap Isrealis to start the 2006 war. Bottom line, until it proves itself otherwise, HA is not be trusted. They won't abide by Lebanese or international laws and won't even discuss their weapons. What good are these talks again?
As long as HA is driven by religious ideology ( after all they are thee party of god, machallah 3layon) and persian money, they have no intention to put their weapons aside and live within the confines of the state. In addition to the above, you are dealing with a social mentality that considers weapons as sacred and their manhood will cease to exist if weapons are taken away from them. I suppose when an AK47= penis, dialogue is doomed and has no meaning.
How funny. Hizb TZ is calling for dialog at the same time as they kill their opponents. It's like a badly scripted movie.
