Nasrallah Rejects Placing Preconditions on Dialogue: We Have No Enemies in Lebanon
إقرأ هذا الخبر بالعربيةHizbullah chief Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah slammed on Sunday “some sides' boycott of the national dialogue,” rejecting any preconditions being placed on the all-party talks.
He said in an indirect reference to the March 14-led opposition: “Some sides are approaching the dialogue in a condescending manner and we will adopt a similar approach to whoever adopts this attitude.”
“We are keen on stability, dialogue, and coexistence among all Lebanese as demonstrated by our actions,” he added during a speech marking the peak of the Ashoura rituals.
“We are keen on averting strife and Israel is our only enemy. We have no enemies in Lebanon,” he stressed.
“Political divisions exist, but we do not view any camp as an enemy,” he emphasized before the crowd that had been marking Ashoura on Sunday morning.
“We have always believed that political dialogue and communication is the best way to solve national, economic, and social crises in Lebanon. We have never once rejected dialogue,” Nasrallah continued.
He added that Hizbullah is prepared to comply with the call to resume dialogue that was issued on November 29.
The March 14 camp announced in October its boycott of government-related activity, including the national dialogue.
It started the boycott in protest against the assassination of Internal Security Forces Intelligence Bureau head Brigadier General Wissam al-Hasan on October 19.
It accused Syria of being behind the murder and has blamed the government, which is comprised of mainly Syria's allies, of covering up the crime.
Addressing regional developments, Nasrallah remarked: “Combating the American-Zionist threat is our primary priority.”
“Some sides in the Arab world are trying to present Israel as a friend and Iran as an enemy,” he cautioned.
“I warn some sides against turning enemies into friends and friends into enemies,” added Nasrallah.
“Be warned that anyone seeking to portray Iran as an enemy is serving Israel,” stressed the Hizbullah leader.
On the possibility of Israel waging a new attack on Lebanon, Nasrallah wondered: “How can Israel consider to attack Lebanon when it will be met with tens of thousands of rockets that will rain down on Tel Aviv and other Israeli territories?”
“A battle with Lebanon will reach the whole of Israel,” he declared.
I won't be around today, I just heard my 22 y.o cousin died frm a heart attack in Abra (Saïda) in his sleep. He had just graduated from college in Texas last summer. What a shame....
Nasrallah setting no preconditions is good for everyone. Yalla, perhaps this will avert a civil strife between shia and Sunnis and their respective allies.
..umm BS thrower ,.. I've always thought how come u have an endless supply of
BS to throw?
... Then nasrallah opened his mouth :)
“We are keen on stability, dialogue, and coexistence among all Lebanese as demonstrated by our actions"
is that why you overthrew a democratically elected government and try to sideline a moderate sunni??
Acountry as sensitive as ours overthrowing a govt that already placated you is not a prelude to stability and co existance. You know that mowaten. Let's not act the fool.
“We are keen on averting strife and Israel is our only enemy. We have no enemies in Lebanon"
no you dont have enemies in Lebanon.. you are having them liquidated one by one..
“Political divisions exist, but we do not view any camp as an enemy,”
is that why on numerous occasions you call M14 collaborators and Israeli????
“We have always believed that political dialogue and communication is the best way to solve national, economic, and social crises in Lebanon. We have never once rejected dialogue,”
As long as everyone knows their place and do not question our weapons, missions, and drones that we only send the info to Iran, and our unquestioned military advantage over everyone in Lebanon.. other than that we can talk about anything you want.. we can schedule a national dialogue session after the classico.. we can chat about the game. is that ok or is it NOT up for discussion as well?
“Combating the American-Zionist threat is our primary priority.”
combating HA and your illegal weapons is ours.
“A battle with Lebanon will reach the whole of Israel,”
cant wait... and we will talk again after that battle...
Same empty threats and same posturing from the head of a terrorist organization who drafted the Lebanese to serve the Iranian Regime.
The Regional unavoidable changes should bring more assertions to those Lebanese who are intimidated by Hezbollah in order to reverse the control of the party over the Lebanese scene.
mowaten, Hey don't speak for all Lebanese...yes, they are a terrorist organization, drug dealers, assassins etc...they are just low scum...
I speak for approx 50 percent of lebanese ya mowaten. They are against HA in any of its forms.
Hizbullah is a terrorist puppet of Iran and Syria. They thrive on threats to Israel, because they do so little for Lebanon. Just a bunch of thugs determined to prevent peace at any cost.
In this critical period I'd like to see that all our politicans gather together and talk rather than insulting each other. Everybody should support President Michel Sleimane in his efforts to achieve temporary stability.
You have eliminated physically a lot of your opponenents, (or contributed to the process) and threatened the others at gunpoint. From this standpoint, yes you have no political foes, they're no match to your killing mafia-style machine!
Azrak-ya-libnan you said it all ! No comment to add...except that this farsi agent will follow Saddam Hussien and Gaddafi in the dustbin of history.
A couple of points:
1) if he has no enemies, why are he and his crew armed to the hilt and hiding in caves?
2) What does HA want to do with the national dialogue--they go there for show and have NEVER consented to anything other parties want. So, what's the point again?
Nasrallah should have an actual press conference with questions posed to him by all people instead of his throwing out his points to a TV audience. He seems to have lost touch with reality.
O mowaten. They are doing this because this is THE major obstacle in lebanon and the ONLY thing dividing us and building up extremisim.
He is the strongest man in lebanon today. Hence he can afford to "accept dialogue", pretend he has "no ennemies". Cosy and arrogant, he is using israel as an excuse to keep his weapons and control the country.
Wait till the geopolitics of the region change. His attitude will change.
Nothing endures but true democracy. The Hezbollah theocracy in Lebanon will fall.
easy to be strong with a foreign paid arsenal... take it out and he is nothing...
he just barks out loud to try and prove he is strong coz he has weapons, any little child could do it.
remember kadhaffi? a million supporters in tripoli, a few days later no body supported him coz he lost his toys....
I don't think making speeches in a cave or otherwise "unknown" location without answering questions directly makes you a leader. If he doesn't have the COURAGE to answer questions and address concerns directly, he is no different than a puppet who is telling everyone what he has been told without proof.
“We are keen on stability, dialogue, and coexistence among all Lebanese as demonstrated by our actions...." >>> demonstrated by our actions? You are one delusional Farsi who must go!
our new lebanese hitler revered by his little nazis....
just see how he orchestrates his demos: looks like in munich!
once upon a time there was a strong man in tunis called ali...
once upon a time.....qaddafi in lybia
once upon a time.....moubarak in egypt
once upon a time.... saddam in irak

dawam el hal mina mouhal....waiting by the river.
time is extremely important
FT please debate like u used to.
You have a different opinion in politics that's fine but please stop the childish comments.
Don't get in the same league of so many of the commentators here that i am ashamed of as lebanese compatriots.
Remember guys other non lebanese are reading your comments!
It is shoking when you compare the comments on other foreign papers, the level never goes so low.
I wonder who is the one that has been condescending and arrogant from the beginning, for years and years, and who has turned their arms already inside Lebanon? What a liar this guy is.
Lebanon doesn't need a war agenda, nor an Israel agenda, nor an Iran agenda, nor an Arab agenda. It just needs to be itself as an economically strong company. That's it. The Hezb agenda is old and finished. Israel doesn't give a damn about having a war with Lebanon unless they are provoked by the stupidity of Hezbollah.

israel and hezbis interests are to keep lebanon weak. hezbis so that they can manipulate their sheep and leaders and stay above the laws, obeying iranians as they see fit ; israel so that their economy is not affected and they can justify their need of us military support!
so both are allied against lebanon with the support of FPMers....
Israel has never wanted a war with the Government or Army of Lebanon, unfortunately it has been drawn into battles when Arafat and his Fatah terrorists were there in Beirut and then when Hizballah gained control of South Lebanon and started firing rockets into the north of Israel.
Israel I am sure would very much like to have friendly relations with the Republic of Lebanon.
I agree, and peace between Lebanon and Israel will eventually become a fact. Syria and Iran have been blocking any chance for peace for decades. The lebanese government is extremely weak and unable to take decisions that are solely in the country's interest. Hezbollah military wing is stronger than our national army. Peace will happen if and only if Syria and Iran's influence in Lebanon weaken dramatically.
We are keen on stability, dialogue, and coexistence among all Lebanese as demonstrated by our actions....
Let me see which action might they be? Closing airport roads when they see fit? Occupying downtown for 18 months? resigning from a national unity government, then sending black-shirted thugs to intimidate legislatures and form their own government? Or is it the May 2007 occupation of Beirut and the killing of 100+ Lebanese? Or is it .... oh why bother I can go on and on.....
What is wrong with the premise of having two enemies: Iran and israel. Does each country in the world have one and only one enemy, ye3ni chu hal 10 year old logic lol.
Iran is not the enemy of the arabs what a joke!!!! what do you call iran/ha support for the genocide of the Syrian people!? how about the islands that iran occupies in UAE, what about iran's assasinations against all its political enemies (she3a and sunis btw) in Iraq and lebanon and and.. is iran a charity organization?!
"Be warned that anyone seeking to portray Iran as an enemy is serving Israel,” stressed the Hizbullah leader."
This is where Arab leaders have it wrong. If you criticize one side, it must mean that you are with the other side. In their eyes, there is no such thing as criticizing Iran without being referred to as a Zionist, or criticizing Israel without being called an Ayatollah worshipper.
Shameful.
You have no enemies and some minorities might view you as the most intelligent person within your level and ranks, the general popularity of Lebanon view you directly or indirectly as Mr obstructive of justice, using the Lebanese infrastructure system for your party's benefits, does not abide, support, and undermine the Lebanese state (i.e.Carry weapons, No paying electricity, and send drones on behalf of Iran).
You are being paid and financed by Iran and not the Lebanese state so that your party executes the Iranian agenda, if the Lebanese state/authorities stop the financing/arms then you will become unemployed. Your arms should belong to the Lebanese state and defending the land should be the role of the Lebanese state, if you exclusively trying to fight Israel then either move to Gaza or Golan and stop provoking the enemy without the permission of the owners of the land.
Funny how the man has to scream and wave his finger while he pretends to be in favor of dialogue and coexistence. Calm down....
Look at my picture....I proclaim that I am a fat pig and the Shia leaders are so corrupt that Iran has investigated where all their money has gone.....LOL....ha ha ha. I proclaim we sell the best cocaine and heroin in the Middle east.
If u don't have any enemies in Lebanon so why u killed rafik hariri and his friend isn't enough stop lying. And let the lebanesse people leave in freedom
Hassoun is becoming so disillusioned living in his rat hole....Hizbala is the enemy of the Lebanese state and thus our enemy, yes Hizbala and cronies are our enemies...If he acted the same way in Iran or any other ME country, he would have been executed a longtime ago.
Then if they didn't kill them as I have said hundreds of times before they have no inteligence and therefore need no intel dept and have no right to control any sector of Lebanon. What else you got?
So what? You are saying M8 is turning out to be exactly like M14? And you are proud you follow such people? I never said M14 were not thieves. I mean look at siniora. But the only reason I lean towards them is they are against weapons. If M14 thinks that after the weapons are gone they could steal again they are wrong. Without weapons more choices will open up. For the lebanese. And the people, me being the first, will turn my back on them. What is your point again?
Hizb are the ones who set the precondition of not discussing arms. So what's he on about? I'm so confused! Is he lying to his sheep again?!
