Suleiman: Bin Laden’s Killing Should Pave Way to Pressuring Israel to Reach Middle East Peace
إقرأ هذا الخبر بالعربيةPresident Michel Suleiman hoped on Tuesday that al-Qaida chief Osama bin Laden’s death would help pave the way for comprehensive peace in the Middle East.
He hoped that Israel would be pressured to this end and in order to settle the Palestinian crisis.
“Combating terrorism is a joint international effort and Lebanon has been part of this mission according to the Arab League’s definition of terrorism,” he noted.
“It has paid a great price for this goal through the lives of its youth and soldiers,” the president stressed.
Suleiman also held talks with Latvian Interior Minister Linda Murniece on bilateral ties and ways to improve them.
He also met with Lebanon’s Ambassador to the Ivory Coast Ali Ajami on the situation of Lebanese expatriates in the African country after the end of its political crisis.
