Jumblat Hails Postponement of Parliamentary Session
إقرأ هذا الخبر بالعربيةProgressive Socialist Party leader MP Walid Jumblat described on Friday a decision to postpone parliamentary sessions as “excellent.”
“All efforts should be exerted to safeguard Lebanon,” Jumblat said in comments published in As Safir newspaper.
He voiced his support to this step, saying: “I appreciate the efforts exerted by those who took this initiative to prevent widening the political gap” between the foes in the country.
On Thursday, Speaker Nabih Berri postponed a parliamentary session set for Nov. 7 after holding talks with Prime Minister Najib Miqati to guarantee the participation of all parties.
Berri said a new date for the plenary session will be set at a later time.
Deputy Parliament Speaker Farid Makari recently postponed the joint parliamentary committees meeting over concern for the lives of MPs.
MP Marwan Hamadeh announced that March 14 deputies will not participate in the meetings because the current government cannot preserve their safety.
The assassination of Internal Security Forces Intelligence Bureau head Wissam al-Hasan deepened the crisis between the March 14 and the March 8 coalition as the opposition insists on the resignation of the cabinet as a main condition to continue any political activity with its foes, while the March 8 coalition rejects the formation of a new government on allegations that there's no alternative.
allah yse3dak ya jumblatt, now you are forced to give berri a compliment! berri owes you big time!
actually, i hear that berri is the biggest land owner in south lebanon, he should give jumblatt a piece somewhere near naqoura, it has nice views and pretty nice beaches if you don't mind the rocks. Does jumblatt swim?
Same politician playing us like sheep...will you vote them back in in 2013??! How about not to!

What the heck is Jumblat saying, March 14? Wasn't he almost in your pocket, this superb reader of events and changes and blah, blah, blah? By the way, what you see on his head that looks like thin long hair are nothing more that hundreds of thousands of sensitive antennae that never cease to pick up those minute fluctuations in events. March 14, don't give up hope, my compatriots. Jumblat shall once again swing closer to you, if not surpass you, before you even know it. Hang on tight, warriors.
I am sorry to have to say that any political leader who attempts to put off sessions of a legally elected parliament does not deserve my respect.
If this person (and it doesn't matter whether it is Mr. Jumblat in Lebanon or someone elsewhere in the world) has anything to say, then the right place to say it is in the parliament of the country.
As if anyone takes notice of responses. At least I have comments, all you have is stupid responses. Shame on you.
