Aoun Says he Escaped 4th Murder Attempt in Sidon

Free Patriotic Movement leader Michel Aoun has said that he escaped a fourth assassination attempt on Saturday after his motorcade came under fire in the southern city of Sidon.
During an address at an FPM dinner in Batroun after midnight Saturday, Aoun said he had previously escaped three murder attempts.
“This is the fourth and the attempt failed today but we haven't found the suspects yet,” he said.
“Why do they want to assassinate me? I haven't killed anyone indiscriminately,” Aoun said.
The failure to kill him “politically and morally” was the reason behind the incident, he added.
The convoy was attacked near Bahaaeddine Hariri mosque in Sidon during his return from a rally in Jezzine, his press office said.
An Nahar quoted FPM media sources as saying that a shot was fired at a four-wheeler in the convoy, causing no casualties.
Immediately after news broke out of the incident, Hizbullah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah telephoned Aoun to inquire about his health.
Aoun also received on Sunday a phone call from Prime Minister Najib Miqati, who is currently in New York.

Three bullet fragments and a gazillion piece of evidence on the attempted assassination on Samir Geagea DO NOT constiture proof to this peace of shit aoun. But a single shot from an unknown source that the governemnt security agencies said no such thing happened is an assassination attempt on aoun. This piece of lower than crap aoun is sinking to a new low everyday. I guess he has hit bottom is the only explanation for this latest scenario because he wants people to feel sorry for him.

I am not saying that the assassination attempt is not real but it's quite interesting to see the remarks given by the FPM and their allies. When the same happened to Geagea, it was a fake attempt and simply a ruse aimed at gaining sympathy and achieving political gains. However, when it happens to Aoun, it is of course a national disaster aimed at ending the reign of the most honest and patriotic person on earth who is always the victim of diabolical plots that stem from the general's love of freedom, independence and reform.
To be fair, the same will most likely also be said by many Geagea supporters with the roles reversed.
Hypocrisy is a requirment in Lebanese politics.

Nobody focussed on the fact that there is no evidence of this shooting. They refused to provide evidence and show the car that was hit by the bullets.
This certainly looks like a scam similar to most of his talk about having evidence about all the stealing in the country.
He is seeking sympathy for the elections. It will not work. People are not blind any more, they have started seeing all the air in his empty rhetoric.

I was in Saida when this supposedly happened. No shots were fired anywhere in that area. The story didn't tell of Bachar called him as well to congratulate him for his scenario. pathetic.

Liar! It was the Salafist of Saida, Sheikh Assir. I seen two snipers, one of the left peg and another on the right, Assir was peddling his BMX. After firing, they retreated to the castle where there is a Salafi military training base.
