Geagea: Aoun Denies Facts and We Will Never Forge Alliance with Him
إقرأ هذا الخبر بالعربيةLebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea stated on Thursday that if Free Patriotic Movement leader MP Michel Aoun is keen on ensuring Christians' fair representation at the parliamentary elections, he should agree to the Christian opposition figures' proposal on the electoral law.
He said during a press conference: “We will never forge an alliance with Aoun after he had repeatedly denied facts.”
On the parliamentary electoral law, the LF leader insisted on the adoption of small districts, saying that proportional representation was among five proposals made during the Bkriki meetings aimed at studying a new law.
Aoun had stated on Tuesday: “The Christian opposition approved the law that was agreed upon by the government at the Bkriki meetings.”
“We are prepared to accept 15 electoral districts for the new electoral law, otherwise we should return to the Orthodox Gathering proposal,” he added.
Geagea explained that Bkirki discussion revolved around the possibility of adopting 61 districts in the new law and another on the adoption of proportional representation, which is different than the law approved by the government.
“We were therefore surprised when the Free Patriotic Movement ministers voted on a law that contradicted the Bkirki discussions,” he noted.
“Our proposal grants better representation than the one proposed by the government,” he said.
“If Aoun was keen on the best representation, then he should agree with our proposal,” Geagea stated.
The parliamentary elections have nothing to do with the developments in Syria and therefore there can be no meddling with the dates of constitutional events, he remarked.
On claims by some March 8 camp officials that extremist Chechen, Libyan, Yemeni, Afghani, and Saudi gunmen were training in northern Lebanon, Geagea said that the government is comprised of March 8 ministers “so why don't they arrest them?”
Those making such remarks could be accused as being traitors because they did not lift a finger to stop such alleged activities, he said.
“Such statements discourage tourists from heading to Lebanon,” he noted.

Geagea: How can we postpone the elections at the time of the Arab Spring and rise of democracy in the Arab world? We oppose their postponement.

Geagea: 2013 parliamentary elections should not be postponed over the developments in Syria.

Geagea: Such statements frighten the people and tourists, so some of these allegations may aimed at creating tensions in Lebanon.

Geagea: If such gunmen exist, why don't you arrest them? You will be labelled as traitors because you are not doing anything to stop them.

Geagea on recent March 8 claims of gunmen from various nationalities training in northern Lebanon: You should tackle the situation since you control the majority of ministers in Lebanon.

Geagea: I hope you would ask experts about which law offers the best representation.

Geagea: Our proposal offers the best representation, not the government's. If Aoun was keen on the best representation for Christians, then he should go with our suggestion.

Geagea: Small electoral districts offer the best representation for Christians, so what have they done with us? They joined Keserouan with Jbeil, Metn with Baabda, Tyre with Jezzine, and Dinnieh with Akkar.

LF leader Samir Geagea during press conference: I would like to remind MP Michel Aoun that proportional representation was not the only proposal made at Bkirki, but it was among one of five others.
m8 are desperate:
- the syrian door is closing down for them
- they lost their popularity
- if elections are held now, they will have less than 40% of parliament seats
- the law they approved in this cabinet will not pass.
the way I see things is as follows:
- the month starting from 18/09 will be the most dangerous month ever for Lebanon.
- if Israel attacks iran, thus hizbushaitan will drag us to war.
- if not, then the UN will deploy at our borders.
- if the desperate hizbushaitan tries to take over the country, they will be totally destroyed.
they already lost :)
There we go BSthrower....up to your usual self-fulfillment scams with voting yourself up through numerous aliases and voting other anti-scum HA posts. No worries....they are watching you. And the funny thing about it is that you do it all about the same time of day. What a pathetic monkey!
A true Lebanese patriot does not make deals with traitors sold out to iran and the syrian regime.
Hahaha 17 red thumbs poped out of the blue... Some idiot is going through a lot of trouble to express 17 times the opinion of 1...
what is cool is that you guys focus so much on irrelevant details, that you forget what is really happening. we've been saying that m8s evil axis is the devil in lebanon, and now that it was openly proven, you still shamelessly defend them. my friend the beautiful land of Lebanon cannot be spoiled with a populace as toxic as you. either gtfo or restructure your views
you can repeat your broken record as much as you want: it does not matter :) you guys have lost forever.
Karim, you forgot one more. Geagea was also responsible for the crucifixion of Jesus Christ...
What are you smoking man??? just go back to the hole you came out of!!!
HA are dirty the only person in front line can only be Hakim otherwise they will take the country to hell. Very smart and wise speech need someone like Hakim to face M8 as most of the other are chicken no balls to talk truth as it is.
MP Hadi Hobeish for President...he is young, smart, always speaks the truth and was not involved in the war.
@karim_m12345,the guy paid good 12 years in prison,if you don't have amnesia syndrome.Abt AL Qaeda,Wahabism and terrorism in Lebanon, they are just in your head. What abt your hassouna, everybody knows what he is importing to Lebanon so shut up!!
Politicians with a defined ideology are easier to deal with, even if they are foes, than someone like Aoun who worships himself and believes only in what brings him power and treasure.
Aoun better have not sold his villa in France, he's going to need a place for his retirement. He's persona non grata in Lebanon and soon to be in Syria.
Ir7al ir7al ya Aoun and take Hassan with you.
@primesuspect,,,,aoun doesn't need his villa in France.he,s not welcome there anymore.much better for him to go to Iran.they,ll be happy with his BFF[Best Friend Forever]hassouna.
BSThrower....get it through your thick Iranian skull...no matter how many aliases and voting schemes you play....we all know it's you and no matter what you post about your love/support for HA....no one is buying it nor will anyone ever sell their country to the devil like you and your conditioned illiterate followers!!!
I know for a fact that France stopped supporting him when he backstabbed them after they welcomed him, fed him for over a decade. I doubt He'll ever return there.
I was close to GMA for several years, I quit him the day I intercepted him getting a call from the Syrian President giving him instructions. We were all having dinner that evening. I'm loyal to pro Lebanese people only, this came to me as a shock and put an end to our long relationship.
I'm no longer surprised by read things in the press, although many facts are fabricated, most are plausible.
I sort of wonder on how many of your posts contain the term wahabi or wahabism--is it more than 90%?
While I know you like using new words like my 2 year old niece, maybe coming up with actual reasons why you support farsi-fascism would be more preferable.
As long as the Christians are polarized like this, there will never be a stable Lebanon. Both Aoun and Geagea are not helping here! All present leaders should go (retire) and get 1 that represents all. Otherwise, it is the status quo for the next 20 years +. JMO
Fellow esteemed commentators - aoun exist because of geagea if he goes someone else will replace him. The problem is not aoun it's geagea initially and now it's both. Wake up, it sickens me that most of you have immigrated and don't understand this yet.
"all present (christian) leaders should go retire and get one that represents all"- SAMY GEMAYEL !
The Orange Tsunami will ravage them all as usual (kataeb+owet+ahrar+...all M14 puppets) especially now with the new electoral law !!! GOD save our GENERAL :)
Aoun run away on 13th of oct and he will every time there is something serious. You are desperate to find a hero in him. but the truth is there is no integrity in his personality.
we are in the cluster of ignorance and this will remain since some people find something in lake of honor.
we lake Christian leadership .. we will not find one until we stop hanging arround stupids
