Syrian Ambassador on Calls for his Expulsion: They are Meaningless Demands

Syrian Ambassador to Lebanon Ali Abdul Karim Ali hoped on Thursday that all Lebanese factions would resort to internal dialogue for the sake of their country and Lebanese-Syrian ties.

He said of calls for his expulsion: “Such desires are meaningless.”

He made his remarks after holding talks with a delegation of Lebanese student organizations.

The majority of the Lebanese and Syrian people are keen on maintaining the fraternal ties between the two countries, added the ambassador.

There is therefore no need to comment on calls for the expulsion, he continued.

“All evil conspiracies against Syria and Lebanon will fail,” stressed Ali.

“We must fortify the standards of mutual coexistence and commit to the role of the resistance, which serves as the defender of Lebanon, the region, and Syria,” he stated.

On Wednesday, a number of March 14 politicians, media personalities, and student bodies staged a rally in front the Foreign Ministry headquarters in Ashrafiyeh to demand Ali’s expulsion over his response to recent statements by President Michel Suleiman, among other issues.

The president had said last week that he is still awaiting Syrian President Bashar Assad to contact him over the arrest of Lebanese former minister Michel Samaha.

On August 23, Ali had said of Suleiman’s remarks: “Lebanon must fortify its internal scene and avoid responding to international pressure on Syria.”

Samaha, a close ally to Damascus, and Syrian security chief Ali al-Mamlouk were recently charged with a forming a criminal group aimed at carrying out attacks in Lebanon.

This Ali boy hasn't got the power to decide for himself. What a douche... It's either Lebanon or his own country that can recall him. He's got no say in the matter... his arrogance will -eventually- cost him a lot. He should be turned over to the FSA as soon as they topple the Butcher of Damascus.

Bashar didn't contact him about Samaha? Really? He lies so much he doesn't even know what the truth sounds like.

They are meaningless demands just like your boss in Syria who does not see the demands of his people have any meaning, nor that you are embargoed by more than 80% of the countries of the world and nor that you cannot control more than a couple of streets in your country. What else.. Only you have meaning

Thumb geha 30 August 2012, 18:20

the syrian regime thinks its lies are still valid and believable, whereas only a stupid person can fall for it :)

Many of the comments here reveals that people the process of brainwashing is still working successfully. I can't understand how can we fall again in the same excuse of "human rights" after watching what they did in Somalia, Bosnia, Iraq, Afghanistan and recently Libya. Again people are repeating the same chorus "assad is killing his own people, assad is killing his own people". The world is in real chaos because of such people. We need people that can use their brain. People need to read, to analyse before making stupid comments supporting US, Israel, France. Those countries are making the us fool. They are humiliating the rest of the world. Their money is making you all fool. Their tv stations. They are the oppressor and not the oppressed.

"Jesus" ... really??

Anyway, your post is quite narrow minded if you allow me. Life, and geopolitics in particular are not a Star Wars movie with good on one side, and evil on the other. Every nation tries to pull the banket to its side, and "the fool" as you name it, is the sore looser. The one that has to resort to terrorism, mass murder, violence. The usa are far from perfection, but at least they offer their citizens free will, elections, and the lesser evil of the political systems we have created so far: Democracy. It has its flaws, abuses, and imperfections, but still it is the most decent system we've come up with. Well I am not sure that communism, or a totalitarian regime makes a people happy and bloom, and create the right dynamic for an economy, research, and development.

Now, your statement is one of a frustrated person spitting on money and mass media. Wake up! Money makes the world turn. And don't you think that any of the despots in this world are not interrested by it, or motivated by power. I will not go on, because it would take me too much time, let me just advise you to think twice, and analyse history before you make such posts, as for your avatar name... please refrain.

Ali Abdul Karim Ali you better be nice and respectful to us Lebanese so we’ll let you come back when you decide to defect later on but for now get the hell out and take the rest of Assad cronies with you.

“We must fortify the standards of mutual coexistence and commit to the role of the resistance, which serves as the defender of Lebanon, the region, and Syria,”
.... is this how weak the Syrian regime has become that they need the desistance to defend them?

Thumb thepatriot 31 August 2012, 17:28

But he's not worth half a Lebanese!
