Hizbullah international relations officer Ammar Moussawi discussed on Tuesday the latest developments in Lebanon with deputy U.N. Special Coordinator for Lebanon Robert Watkins, stressing the need to continue tackling pending issues that concern the Lebanese people.

A statement issued by Hizbullah said that the two officials “placed a priority on bolstering internal stability.”

The talks also focused on the recent release of Hussein Ali Omar over the weekend, who was initially kidnapped with ten of his colleagues in Aleppo in Syria in May as they were making their way back from a pilgrimage in Iran.

Omar’s release was the product of a Turkish initiative to release the 11 pilgrims.

Hizbullah also condemned the “international silence” over Israel’s threats against Lebanon and its ongoing violations of its territories.
