Hariri: Govt. Has Abandoned its Duties so All Forces Must Rise above Personal Interests to End Division

Former Prime Minister Saad Hariri noted on Friday that Eid al-Fitr arrives in Lebanon this year as it is facing dangers that are threatening its sovereignty and security.

He said in a statement: “The government has abandoned its duties in protecting the country, which requires all forces to rise above personal interests and work on ending division.”

“They must cooperate to save the state from collapse and restore the Lebanese people’s faith in its goal to maintain stability and security and eliminate the illegal possession of arms in Lebanon,” he added.

“We look forward to efforts that will help release the abducted Lebanese to their families and put a complete end to the series of kidnappings that are only aimed at creating more tensions and strife,” he continued.

A series of abductions of Syrians and allegedly a Turkish national took place in the past two days by al-Meqdad clan to demand the release of Hassan al-Meqdad, who was kidnapped by Free Syrian Army members in Syria earlier this week.

Too late... Lebanon was a zoo and is now jungle. Good luck to all those Lebanese who dreamed a of civilized country. The Muslim war between Sunni and Shiites... Between Saudi Arabia and Iran... Is now reality. The palestinians have been replaced by syrians... Long live every other cause except Lebanon's.

The Lebanese army is as impotent as it was in the 70s.... The government is as embarrassing and useless as it was in the the 70s and the Sunnis are as pro Syrian rebels as they were pro Palestinians in the 70s. Difference is that the Shiites are much more powerfull and the christains much more divided.

Lebanese are the biggest idiotic, stupid, animals! Nothing less than camel riding slaves! Thfeh!

Bashar said he wouldn't leave Lebanon without turning it upside-down. I guess it was foreseeable.

The civil war is knocking at the door... be wise and don't open it.

Media should request that Harriri appears in public. Ask why he do not show his face infront of a camera, and why is is absent for this long from public? You will hit the joker if you dig into it!
