LBCI said the protesters reportedly belong to AMAL Movement.
“A number of young men assaulted The Daily Star journalist Shadi Abdallah, although he identified himself as a reporter. They also pelted stones at a number of passersby,” state-run National News Agency reported.
NNA also said that a black Toyota arrived on the scene and that 15 gunshots were fired in the air from the car.
Security forces managed to reopen the road briefly before it was blocked again by protesters.
NNA also said that protesters blocked the road linking downtown Beirut to Beshara al-Khoury with rocks.
Thugs. From what right are you going to Ashrafieh? Do the LF or the kataeb block bourj el brajneh? Instead of blocking roads for protesting not being able to buy electricity at subsidized prices, go work make money and buy solar panel generators
When the Shia start paying for electricity instead of living like m'tweili beggars they electricity problem will be over and the debt of the country will go away. The Shia are bankrupting the country.
I don´t like using sectarian explanations, but unfortunately there are a big part of a sect now not fulfilling it´s duties when it comes to the nations interest. Like paying their electricity bills...
Therefore, the Electricity in Lebanon should be private. Which means that if a customer is not paying, the power will be cut off. No political covers will be accepted as the CEO of the company will be living in London or shanghai, he/she will not care for any political threats.
