March 14 Demands Govt. Resignation, Urges Referring Geagea, Harb Cases to STL

The March 14 forces on Thursday called on the government to “resign immediately” and called for referring the assassination attempts against Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea and MP Boutros Harb to the U.N.-backed Special Tribunal for Lebanon.

In a statement issued after an emergency meeting at Harb’s residence in the wake of a failed attempt on his life, the March 14 forces also called on the government to immediately hand over telecom data linked to recent assassinations bids to the relevant security agencies.

“We hold the government in general and the Free Patriotic Movement and Hizbullah in particular responsible for failing to hand over this data,” the March 14 forces added in their statement.

Telecom Minister Nicolas Sehnaoui is an FPM member.

“These acts can be linked to the government’s collusion in failing to hand over the accused in the Hariri murder and in providing cover for illegal arms,” said March 14’s statement.

Earlier on Thursday, security forces found an explosive device in the elevator of a building in Beirut where MP Harb has an office after witnesses wrangled with a suspect who was whisked away by a suspicious vehicle.

Police found the device in the elevator shaft of the building that lies in Badaro district’s Sami Solh street a few hours after the suspect carrying a knife was subdued but managed to escape along with two accomplices.

“The attempt comes following several reports about plots to assassinate March 14 leaders which were confirmed by the interior minister more than once,” the March 14 forces noted in their statement.

“We realized from the very beginning that some sides are trying to drag us into changing the rules of political engagement,” they added.

The March 14 forces also demanded “immediate military protection around the house of MP Harb and around the houses of all March 14 leaders.”

March 14, look no farther than your closest friends. They are the ones who killed all of your other friends. As to the fabrication attempt on and by Dr. Falso, well, that's what it is: a lame fabrication.

Thumb bigsami 05 July 2012, 22:26

Well LFirst....it was Hariri by the will & request of the majority until ousted at gunpoint by the illegitimate group that call themselves Lebanese (resistance). And to answer your question......yes it is what we all rightfully want!

Thumb lebanon_first 05 July 2012, 22:44

what experience does child king Hariri have? he was born with a gold spoon in his mouth. What does he know about running a country? His objective in life is to get justice with hezbollah for the murder for his Rafic (RIP). Is this what lebanon needs? a vendetta oriented prime minsiter? (even if it is for a rightful cause).
I think we need infrastructure, jobs, protection against the syrian regime, oil drilling. we dont have the luxury today to get justice. Hezbollah's weapons will stop to exist after external factors happen. syria, iran, anything could get those weapons out of the picture. Meanwhile, you want us to be hostages of vendetta man? I say no. let the chiites have their weapons for a while. They will stop feeling ma7roumin. And they will eventually join the christians and the sunnis in wanting to build the state.

Thumb fadi_albeiruti 06 July 2012, 09:53

"Quote", "And they will eventually join the christians and the sunnis in wanting to build the state". So in the time being all Lebanese should put their lives on hold and wait on them to decide if and when they want to be a part of the state building process which by the way will never happen in their own free will, and why should they when right now they are the power brokers in Lebanon ,"ma7roumin" not sure who you're referring to but they are far from it, what they lack they steal and maybe if they stopped the drug dealing and got rid of their weapons and educated themselves things would look up for them, so if they are ma7roumin it's by choice.

That would be ideal LFirst & wishful thinking.....HA is simply a puppet on a string being pulled by others.

Thumb bigsami 05 July 2012, 22:27

Miqati....begged....to join....LMAO! Whats distorted information you are fed and beleive! LOL

What are you FT? Read and find out. Pathological narcissism involves an impaired, dysfunctional, immature (true) self coupled with a compensatory fiction (the False Self). The sick narcissist's sense of self-worth and self-esteem derive entirely from audience feedback. The narcissist has no self-esteem or self-worth of his own (no such ego functions). In the absence of observers, the narcissist shrivels to non-existence and feels dead. Hence the narcissist's preying habits in his constant pursuit of narcissistic supply. Pathological narcissism is an addictive behaviour.

Still, dysfunctions are reactions to abnormal environments and situations (e.g., abuse, trauma, smothering, etc.).

(wow i guess that there was an electronic bug there! naharnet?)

Missing freemind 05 July 2012, 22:48

clever mr primesuspect.
however, u commented purely on the form, not the content.
which is sadly the problem of this whole affair.

Missing freemind 06 July 2012, 09:28

thumbs down, comments about the form, counter comment... but none of you actually answered the questions that were stated.

do you really want the free syrian army to train in lebanon?
(when they could very well do so in turkey)
do you really want a sunni/shia war?
what is an alternative?

use your brains, instead of blindly following this or that group of greedy, unworthy politicians.

I guess it does not bother M14 and their American (ie Israeli) masters when there was an attempted assassination on wiam Wehbe (the US government did not even denounce it). M14 will NEVER achieve power again unless they distance themselves from America (Israel) and their Arab puppets.

Bigsami, I guess you don't rightly want representational voting or majority rule, so just how " rightly"do you want it, rightly enough to kill somebody in the street over heresay and rumor. It could have been a CIA black ops scam for all you know. None of you have a clue who was behind either "assassination" attempt What you have is predisposition and fervent and delusional belief in what you have been told by people that you shoiuld not trust.

Missing freemind 06 July 2012, 09:16

enough and the others: u r really blind.
it's so sad.

Who is wiam Wehbe?u meant wahhab?do you really believe anno the usa gov had tried ti murder wiam wahhab?lololololololol.
Free mind i am 100% sure, what happens in Syria should stay there,if they want a free zone, they can request it from Turkey,
Civilians ONLY should be allowed into leb, anyone with weapons or related to free syrian army should be kicked back or locked,we had enough, let them sort out their own problems, but at the same time the army should be protecting the borders and stopping the syrian assaults on leb.
As for you John Yes they should distance themselves from America Israel and their arab puppets and side with the regime that slaughtered the lebanese for 30 long years.
Ba3ed fi awta minnak?????

These guys of March 14 have become quite repetitious, ineffective and very boring. I am surprised that their followers (and you really have to be an idiot to follow those belonging to such a criminal enterprise as Hariri and Jumblat Mafia) do not demand such leaders to put up or just shut up. No wonder they are eternal losers.
