Report: Israel Fears Hizbullah Could Force Sea Blockade in 'Future War'

Israel expressed fear that Hizbullah will try to blockade the country by targeting civilian cargo ships within a 30 kilometers radius to halt them from sailing there during war, the Jerusalem Post reported.
According to the Israeli newspaper, Israel receives 90 percent of all goods, including ammunition and military hardware, by sea.
A senior navy officer told the JP that “Hizbullah has already proven that it can fire missiles… the operational capability exists as does the readiness to act.”
He warned that if Hizbullah succeeded in stopping commercial vessels from sailing to Ashdod and Haifa ports, then Israel will suffer major consequences.
“People have not internalized what it means that 99% of what we import as a country comes by sea,” the officer pointed out.
He stated that this is the “first and primary challenge (Israel) will need to confront.”
Israel estimates that Hizbullah has an arsenal of 40,000 short- and medium-range rockets, which are being held in towns and villages across the south -- a significant rise from the 14,000 rockets held by the group in 2006.
It says the stockpile includes hundreds of longer-range rockets, some with a range of more than 300 kilometres, capable of reaching major Israeli population centres.
Israel fought a devastating war against Hizbullah in 2006 that cost the lives of 1,200 people in Lebanon, mainly civilians, and 160 Israelis, mostly soldiers.

called others cowards? Big LOL. A coward is a guy not playing by the rules. i.e. Hezbollah pointing its arsenal towards unarmed lebanese citizens in total impunity. The coward is the one that doesn't have balls. The rules = the laws in our country as well as the ones imposed on us by UN. They're like muggers attaching an 80 year old woman in the street to snatch her purse. Relying on others to do what our gov isn't willing to do isn't coward, it's despair.

Do you think the Israeli warships will be hit again? Mouahaha. They have the technology to neutralise missiles as well as torpedoes. Frankly, You know it'll never go this far again because Hezbollah is Assad's puppet. Assad shares Natanyahu's bed... Do you think that your hezbollahi friends are going to attack the Israelis in the Golan Heights or in the Shebaa Farms? Of course not! they're going to attack the Free Syrian Army because they're weak and disorganised. Hezbollah always attacks weaker targets, such as us, civilians or from far far away (the Israeli navy, the Katyoushas to Israel). That's the perfect definition of coward.

Another propaganda article from israel publiced on Naharnet.
Why are we reading about this every single week? We dont care what israel thinks about hezb. Showing "fear for hezbollahs capacities" on weekly bases just adds to their popularity amongst shias PLUS is a propaganda tool for the israelis to obtain more support.
So stop putting it on naharnet.

I know. These articles are everywhere in Europe. Just to keep the europeans up to date concerning the threats surrounding poor israel.
That is why shouldnt make way for the the same propaganda in Lebanon.
