UAE Renews Advice to Citizens to Avoid Travel to Lebanon

The United Arab Emirates has renewed its call on its citizens to avoid travel to Lebanon and Syria over the security situation in the two countries despite a visit by President Michel Suleiman to Abu Dhabi to review the decision.

In a statement released on Monday, the UAE foreign ministry advised citizens not to travel to Lebanon and Syria out of its keenness on the safety of the nationals abroad.

The UAE and three other Gulf countries – Bahrain, Qatar and Kuwait – issued travel warnings last month, a move that prompted Suleiman to carry out a Gulf tour.

During his visit to Abu Dhabi last week, UAE President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed al-Nahyan announced keenness on the security and stability of Lebanon .

Fighting prompted by sectarian tensions in Syria has unsettled the northern port city of Tripoli and shook the security in the area of Wadi Khaled and Akkar after tit-for-tat sectarian abductions.

we must impose a visa on UAE nationals, and remove it once they allow Lebanese citizens visa free travel into the UAE.

Yes mazen, also let's make it harder for UAE nationals to get work visas. I mean they come here in their thousands take Lebanese jobs, I hate that... No wait there are no Lebanese jobs the Iranian Islamic militia turning Lebanon into an Iranian protectorate discouraged job creations.

Yea you can thank Assad and his Shabi7a for that.

Unfortunately, Mr. President, your visit ended up being a courtesy call. Maybe you should call on those active warlords who tell their fighters to take up their weapons whenever they feel like it. This dialogue will be much fruitful than the one organized yesterday.
Nevertheless, we hope our expats will come this summer and spend some money here, that is, if they have the intention to come too...

Our useless Syrian defense minister keeps repeating the Syrian regime's mantra that Lebanon is infested with terrorists and then they expect tourists to come over, that's rich.

Wait a second, why all that noise?? There are people from other countries that will like to visit Lebanon.. and many are visiting.. our president should have discussed the so-called expulsion list of people who have been living at the UAE for decades..Why are they being deported? and If so they must be allowed time to wrap up their businesses, etc..many had to leave weeks before the end of school year resulting in their children being deported without academic transcripts.. etc.. any country has the right to terminate a foreigner's residence permit; however (legally registered) people can not be asked to leave within hours or days..

He made the trip to the Gulf states, and couldn't drive up to Tripoli or Akkar?
