Aoun to Make Hash Retorts at FPM Rally

Free Patriotic Movement leader Michel Aoun is expected on Saturday to snap back at President Michel Suleiman, Progressive Socialist Party leader Walid Jumblat and al-Mustaqbal movement at a rally that would set the stage for future campaigns by his party ahead of the 2013 parliamentary polls.

The FPM is organizing the rally at the Platea theater in Sahel Alma in Kesrouan district on the seventh anniversary of Aoun’s return from exile to Paris.

An Nahar daily quoted an FPM source as saying that the rally is aimed at snapping back at accusations that the movement has lost its popular support.

Saturday’s event is also the start of an escalatory campaign that would set the choices of the movement and mainly its reform efforts, the source said.

Aoun has been at loggerheads with Suleiman over several issues and mainly the appointment of the head of the Higher Judicial Council. They took their dispute to the social networking sites last week when the FPM chief accused the president of begging for his seat.

But Suleiman retorted, saying a consensual president does not beg for the presidency and on the contrary, everyone asks him to accept the post of president.

Aoun is also likely to respond to Jumblat, who on Friday said the “irrational movement led by Michel Aoun is paralyzing everything.”

He accused Aoun of “seeking to control all the organs of the state: judiciary, security, politics, administration and elections.”

Jumblat, who is snubbing proportional representation in the elections, will face the retort of Aoun who will stress that the winner-takes-all law of 1960 is rejected, al-Akhbar daily said.

Aoun will also make a harsh retort to the opposition al-Mustaqbal movement led by ex-PM Saad Hariri, the FPM sources told An Nahar.

Aoun is fooling himself and his followers.
he is the reason we (christians) are loosing ground. through his stupid alliance with hizbushaitan, he is providing them with the cover they need.
I can not imagine where would aoun be if the attempt on Geagea succeeded! I mean, if Geagea was assassinated, what would be the use of aoun to hizbushaitan? the christians would have had a major vacuum, and hizbushaitan would then have christians totally under his control be elected, thus dropping totally aoun and his stupid followers.
what good is aoun to the christians?

Pray to God that Geagea is in a very good health. In case he died from a heart attack, the Christians in Lebanon will be doomed. So you don't get upset Geha, that goes to Aoun followers too, pray for the general to be immortal.

@ex-GMA, what about those you left behind in the palace while you fled the Syrians attack like the little coward that you are? Did you defend them and their beliefs then? Or were they not humans in your eyes? Just servants ready to die for you so you can be the yellow belly coward that you are? You are a fake Mr. ex-GMA. I see you, I see you, you yellow belly good for nothing less than human liar and a cheat! You only impress the deaf and the blind with your sanctimonious BS. Go be a saint already since you have no sins and leave us be! Let those who worship you do so in the privacy of their own home. We’re done with your kind.

While the FPM are preparing the rally to mark the 7th anniversary of Aoun's return to Lebanon ... The French are preparing the rally celebrate the 7th anniversary of him Lleaving France ... I just wish he had kept the same values that he preached for several years and not pull a "Jumblat" on his supporters.
