China’s U.N. Envoy: We Want ‘Objective and Transparent’ Probe in Hariri Murder
إقرأ هذا الخبر بالعربيةChina’s ambassador to the U.N., Li Baodong, has stressed that investigations carried out by the Special Tribunal for Lebanon in ex-Premier Rafik Hariri’s Feb. 2005 assassination should be “objective and transparent.”
Li made the comment in response to a question by An Nahar daily during a press conference he held in New York on Wednesday.
Li is president of the Security Council for March.
The Council should follow up the operations of the tribunal because it was established by a Security Council resolution, he told reporters.
The Council “has no other stance” from this issue, he said. “We want an objective, transparent and credible investigation in former Premier Hariri’s assassination case.”
