Workers of state-owned Electricite du Liban announced on Wednesday that they would hold an open-ended strike until the government meets their demands.

The EDL Workers Union said in a statement that it decided to go ahead with the open-ended strike and stop work at all of the company's departments until the authorities approve to transfer the necessary funds to pay the salaries of employees.

The EDL staff held a strike on Monday at the branches of the northern port city of Tripoli and Rashaya, the National News Agency reported.

NNA had quoted Union member Mohammed Aswam as saying before the union’s announcement that the open-ended strike would start on April 2 in the event the demands of the workers were not met.

Hahaha EDL has been on a strike (of services) for 30 years or more, who's going to notice that they stopped "working" when they barely worked 2 hours a day, 4 days a week?
