Fadlallah says seized explosives for fighting Israel, denies assassination plans

A prominent Hezbollah lawmaker acknowledged Thursday that a truck full of explosives seized by Lebanese authorities last week belonged to the Iran-backed group and said the explosives were intended for use against Israeli forces in southern Lebanon.

The truck, which was stopped at a checkpoint on the main highway linking Beirut with the eastern Bekaa Valley, was carrying 780 kilograms of explosives, including 250 kilograms of TNT and 250 kilograms of C-4 plastic explosives, according to judicial officials.

Two men were arrested when the truck was stopped, and Lebanese authorities launched an investigation. They said that security agencies will go after other people involved in the shipment.

The news of its seizure had generated heated public discussions, with many accusing Hezbollah of planning to carry out assassinations of domestic opponents at a time when the group is under increasing pressure to disarm.

Prime Minister Nawaf Salam noted that C-4 explosives had been used in several "infamous political assassinations in Lebanon's modern history."

Hassan Fadlallah, a member of Hezbollah's parliamentary bloc, in a statement Thursday acknowledged that the truck was transporting materials for the group. He said the explosives were "intended exclusively for use against the Israeli occupation" in southern Lebanon and called the allegations that they were part of an assassination plot "baseless."

"It is well known that (Hezbollah's) weapons include explosive devices — a subject the enemy has frequently addressed and whose impact it deeply fears," the statement said. It was the group's first official comment on the captured explosives.

Fadlallah said Hezbollah had requested Lebanese authorities to hand the shipment over to them and release the two people who were detained.

The incident has highlighted growing tensions between Hezbollah and the Lebanese government.

For years, Hezbollah had moved weapons freely in parts of Lebanon. That changed in March, when the Lebanese government declared all military activities by the Iran-backed group "illegal."

That decision came hours after Hezbollah fired rockets into northern Israel, triggering a war that has killed nearly 4,000 people in Lebanon and resulted in Israeli forces occupying a large swath of southern Lebanon. The group fired the rockets two days after Israel and the United States launched a war on Iran, its main backer.

Hezbollah has refused to recognize the government decision outlawing its military wing, and Fadlallah's statement described it as "null and void."

If truly there is a government and an administration that has an ounce of self-respect, it should immediately arrest this outlaw and throw him in jail. The government has officially outlawed Hezbollah's armed presence and its apparatus, hence his admission/declaration that the explosives belong to Hezbollah is a public admission of guilt.

The 'fake' resistance no longer exists. It is an illegal Iranian terrorist organization and all its members and so-called leaders should be arrested and publicly executed for treason.

The irony is that Hezbollah still has two ministers in the cabinet:))))

Sedition.

Hezbullah is responsible for Israel killing 4000 people in Lebanon recently? "Triggering" "resulting in" "occupying" This does sound like a BBC comedy show (if they still do those), where the bad guy says to the victim "you made me do it, nyah, ha, ha." Israel reportedly suffers from an emotional malady where it exacts a hundred-to-one kill ratio in its military operations. Therapists have advised it that fifty-to-one might be sufficient and that the hundred-to-one policy looks bad in the New York Times. Did those Hezbullah rockets kill anybody in Israel?

There is no exception in law either for "justifiable sedition" or "reasonable man treason". Either sedition or treason can be punishable by death.

You'd rather have no territorial defense forces than be defended by Hezbullah?

I rather my family have an honorable life and see itself acting honorably with reverence for the countrymen and nation that help sustain us. I see the predisposition of some individuals which has them act where the Republic is the authority regardless of the claimed betterment ... if such a compelling claim, those individuals should be easily able to convince fellow countrymen to vote overwhelmingly in favor of any initiative proposed .. short of that, all such claims are dishonorable.

So no C-4 was found.

Google it carefully.

chrisrushlau,

Default-user-icon PaulB (Guest) 15 October 2026, 21:31

Default-user-icon PaulB (Guest) 15 October 2026, 21:35

Première étape donc : retirer tout pouvoir étatique régalien aux pro-hezb pour une génération.
