Jumblat says Issa has clearly not read his comments on framework agreement

Former Progressive Socialist Party leader Walid Jumblat said U.S. Ambassador to Lebanon Michel Issa has clearly not read his comments on the U.S.-sponsored framework agreement between Lebanon and Israel, after the latter accused Jumblat of changing his mind "day to day" about the agreement.

In a post in English on the X platform, Jumblat said Issa's busy schedule had prevented him from reading his comments on the "piece of paper called trilateral framework", adding that he rejects the agreement and that it should be replaced by the armistice agreement cited by the Taef accord and resolution 1701.

"Jumblat wants it one day and not the next," Issa told reporters after meeting with spiritual head of the Druze community in Lebanon Sheikh Sami Abi Al-Muna. "We will communicate with him soon," he added.

In JumblatLand, the solution to today's problems in Lebanon is the agreement reached in the war before the war before the current war, and which was never respectfully implemented and adhered to by all the Lebanese parties ...

Magical thinking about a time long ago, when Lebanon needs practical progress in the present so to enable a better future than those surviving warlords have been able to deliver in recent decades.

Walid should be following President Aoun and supporting Lebanon by being helpful.
