Berri says only Trump can 'compel Israel to end its war'
Speaker Nabih Berri noted Wednesday that "what the South is experiencing is intolerable and may even surpass the crimes and massacres perpetrated in Gaza.”
"The United States is the only country, and President Donald Trump is the only one capable of compelling Israel to end its war, cease fire, and withdraw to the international border in the South. Only then can I guarantee the immediate deployment of the Lebanese Army in the area south of the Litani River,” Berri told a delegation from the American Task Force on Lebanon (ATFL).
“The Lebanese Army will be the sole force maintaining security and will be the only one possessing weapons in that region, an area to which its residents have the right to return and rebuild. They yearn to see the Lebanese Army safeguarding their security and stability," the Speaker added.
