Report: US to inform Haykal of its dissatisfaction with his performance
U.S. officials believe that Lebanon is currently required to take steps to curb Hezbollah's influence and the U.S. administration will inform Lebanese Army chief Rodolphe Haykal tomorrow of its dissatisfaction with his performance, a U.S. source told Al-Arabiya on Thursday night.
"The U.S. administration believes that the Lebanese Army commander lacks the courage to stand up to Hezbollah," the source said.
"U.S. officials believe that Lebanon's request for negotiations with Israel is not a path to a solution," the source added.
"U.S intelligence indicates that Hezbollah's presence south of the Litani River remains as strong as, or even stronger than, its previous strength," the source said.
"The U.S. administration considers negotiations between Lebanon and Israel currently futile," the source said, adding that "the U.S. administration will demand that Lebanon take serious action against Hezbollah before any negotiations."

Nothing is futile except CIA and mossad propaganda saying that negotiations and plans are futile. The truth is that peace can be achieved and a security agreement can be made on the methods of removing Hezbollah can be agreed upon within a negotiation! The only other reason would be if Israel wants to invade regardless.

The situation Lebanon finds itself in is very difficult to say the least. But listening to the rubbish advice from the impartial USA would certainly lead to a much worse civil war that the country can ill afford. Let us not forget that Israel is the criminal here, Israel never stopped killing & bombing Lebanon despite the ceasefire last year. Not one single western country condemned Israel or asked it to comply with the ceasefire & those that did it was a half hearted effort. Please, so called mediators, don't push the country into a worse state than the one it's in.

An idiot knows Hizbollah is Iranian brigade that will never give up its arms. It can only be disarmed by force by our army. Army division or civil war are a lie despite Hizb infiltrating army as majority of Shia eager to get rid of this monster. Even in Iran less than 20% support Khamenei mass-murderer dynasty. Aoun & Haykal allowing Hizb to recover & rearm for a year have committed the worst crime against Lebanon and the army. Army will end up paying a much higher price for Aoun/Haykal complicity. UNIFIL, Egypt, France & the world was eager to help Lebanon disarm this cancer in one month and liberate Lebanon & Shia masses. Worst, Aoun & Haykal inaction will lead to civil war as Hizb brainwashed Basij spreading throughout Lebanon. Egypt refused tens of billions by no allowing Hamas masses to enter Egypt for being indoctrinated. Aoun & Haykal should resign immediately before they cause more damage.
