Aoun: Dispute is Now between us and Nahhas, We Thank him for his Service
إقرأ هذا الخبر بالعربيةFree Patriotic Movement leader MP Michel Aoun revealed on Tuesday that he has not yet decided whether he will accept Labor Minister Charbel Nahhas’ resignation.
He said after the Change and Reform bloc’s weekly meeting: “The dispute over the transportation allowance is now between us and Nahhas.”
“The government no longer has anything to do with the dispute and we have taken our time in handling the issue in order to preserve the rights of employers and employees,” he explained.
“We thank him for his service and high competency in his work,” added the MP.
“His circumstances no longer allow him to continue on working with us,” Aoun continued.
The FPM leader recounted the developments that led to Nahhas’ resignation, saying that two days before the government approved the wage hike, the Shura Council had convened to eliminate a number of illegal laws.
“We therefore supported his rejection of the transportation allowance and began to find ways to resolve the dispute,” he added.
He revealed that an agreement was reached between him, Speaker Nabih Berri, and Prime Minister Najib Miqati over a draft law on the allowance.
“We have respected the law and, with all respect to Nahhas, no one’s will is more powerful than the Change and Reform bloc,” stressed Aoun.
The MP concluded the meeting by implying that he would accept Nahhas’ resignation, by saying: “His replacement will be from the FPM.”
Nahhas informed Aoun on Tuesday his intention to resign after refusing to sign the transportation allowance decree.
OTV denied that Nahhas had submitted his resignation to Miqati; however, if the reports were true, then acting Labor Minister Nicolas Fattoush will be required to sign the decree.
The transportation allowance decree is at the center of a dispute between Miqati and Nahhas, who refuses to sign the decision for allegedly being “illegal.”

Aoun: Nahhas did not sign the decree, which created a dispute between him and us. The dispute has nothing to do with government pressure.

FPM leader MP Michel Aoun after Change and Reform bloc weekly meeting: We were surprised by the past few developments regarding the wage hike in that the premier said that he suspended cabinet sessions because of a dispute over administrative appointments, but in the end it turned out that the problem was related to the transportation allowance.
Michel Aoun should remember never promise what you can't deliver. He fool keeps making that same mistake over and over again because of an overinflated self worth brought about by supporters telling him he's the greatest. Events keep showing how little he can deliver.

excellent example of someone with the memory span of a goldfish
We respected the law, and with all respect to Nahhas, no one’s will can overpower the Change and Reform bloc.
So CHarbel Nahhas was trying to overpower the Change and Reform bloc.
I dont get it ?
Why did nahhas offer his resignation ? Is there a problem between him and the FPM ?
On peut toujours défendre n'importe qui, n'importe quoi, à n'importe quel moment! la loi est expliqué différemment selon les jours et selon l'humeur des politiciens. on se fout de la gueule des Libanais!!
buy him a new set of pyjamas and send him running to the iranian embassy where habal amel and his familia are
MOOOwaten it seems you have been following speeches as well. I actually stopped listening to idiots like this guy speak..
Charbel Nahhas wanted to change and reform the way governments operate but Michel Aoun is vehemently against such a crazy thing.
after months and months of saying "we support minister charbel nahhas" micho got his marching orders from hassan and orders are orders. hassan and bashar needed a government that is in operation
it looks like Aoun is letting go of Nahhas to cover up for his son in law red diesel scandal. this is the deal :)
Aoun already left his officers to die while he was running, and now clearly he is sacrificing nahhas :) not that I like the guy but it shows the trend of aoun.
rudes it is sad to see you are suffering from Harriri Derangement Syndrome (HDS). Please remember to breathe and eat your Wheaties or we will have to rush you to the insane assylum for your own good. Envy can turn people very ill.
Just how you can't keep yourself from posting on our forum where you don't belong...do you even try to make sense when you type or do you just type for the sake of typing?....ah nevermind, I forgot, most likely you are an FPM paid consultant and probably share the same level of intellect as they.
Not a supporter of Aoun but bravo Generale! This is a first for any Lebanese political party. Love him or hate him, Nahas believed in something, and fought for it till the end.
Ummm .. u do realize that Nahas is actually going against the wishes of his generale!

So perhaps you need to re-think about your "BRAVO"! this guy deserves the boot not an applaud!
God I would never vote for this idiot... everything about this guy wrong and almost all the other politicians as well... but this Aoun takes the cake!!!
Aoun again proves to be ready to get rid of anyone who says No to him ... this kid (in actions and way of thinking) is going to bring doom upon us again. He is nothing but a cry baby who wants to get all the candy. First his officer, then Abou Jamra and Karam ... and now Nahhas ... I wonder if Hassouni is worried he will turn on him one day as well!
ClAoun you are a traitor to your country and your beleifs ... it is time we thank you for your dis-service and ask you to LEAVE!
