Israeli missile hits open area between two Jbeil towns
A missile hit the al-Wardiyet area between the Jbeil district towns of Almat and Ehmej on Monday, as Israeli warplanes targeted Lebanon’s western mountain range.
The missile hit a mountainous and uninhabited area, causing no casualties, the National News Agency said.
MP Simon Abi Ramia inspected the area in the presence of the army and security forces.
“Divine providence protected citizens,” Abi Ramia said, condemning “the Israeli attacks and aggression” and thanking security forces for rushing to the scene and launching an investigation.
Ehmej mayor Nazih Abi Semaan meanwhile told MTV that he was surprised that a missile a hit the area.
“We considered that it might have fallen by mistake, seeing as the town is empty and we had noticed anything unusual in the area,” he added.
