Report: Hezbollah willing to accept president other than Franjieh
Hezbollah is “willing to accept the election of a candidate other than its declared nominee Suleiman Franjieh,” diplomatic sources said.
The alternative candidate would enjoy Hezbollah’s approval, the sources told the Nidaa al-Watan newspaper in remarks published Tuesday.
“When the time comes for this exit, Hezbollah will go to an electoral session in which it will maintain its support for Franjieh, even if that leads to the election of another candidate in the same session,” the sources added.
