Iraq recalls ambassador from Tehran after missile strikes

Iraq said Tuesday it has recalled its ambassador from Tehran for consultations after its ally's Revolutionary Guards carried out deadly missile attacks on its autonomous Kurdish region.

Ambassador Nassir Abdel Mohsen was "recalled for consultations in the context of the latest Iranian attacks on (regional capital) Arbil in which there were dead and wounded," a foreign ministry statement said.

Senior Iraq official says Iran claim it hit Mossad base 'false'

Iraqi National Security Adviser Qassem al-Araji dismissed as "false" Iran's claim that it hit an Israeli intelligence base in an overnight missile strike in the Kurdish regional capital Erbil.

"Concerning the alleged presence of a headquarters of Israel's Mossad, we visited the house, we inspected every corner of it and everything indicated that it was the family home of an Iraqi businessman," Araji told Kurdish television station K24 after touring the building that was hit.

"These allegations are false and incorrect," added Araji, who has been tasked by the Baghdad government with investigating the Iranian strikes.

Look up Kurdistan region in Wikipedia, to see a map showing Erbil is in that "self-ruled", i.e., US-occupied, part of Iraq. While Iraq is requesting US to remove all troops from Iraq, this "inspection" of a "family home" indicates a meager attempt to save face. The inspector had to get permission from some Kurdish political movement. There used to be two of them competing for control.

Isn't it interesting to note that although countries like Iraq, Syria and Turkey join together to demand that Israel allows independence for a Palestinian state, they are the very ones who themselves adamantly and continually refuse the same independence for a Kurdish state.
Do they not know the saying "Do unto others as you would have done to yourselves"?

The Palestinians were there first.

Where exactly were they?
Just three weeks ago millions of people all over the world celebrated the birth of Jesus, who in case you didn't know was a Jew. He was born over 2000 years ago in Bethlehem, so I'm not sure that the Palestinians were there first, when there also there is archaeological proof that Jews have been living in the Holy Land for over 5000 years.
By the way if you have read your Bible and Koran you would also know that in the Bible Jerusalem is mentioned over 600 times, whereas in the Koran, it is not even mentioned once, presumably because the Arabs came from Arabia not from north of there.
