Mikati says Berri, Franjieh would make 'a successful duo'
Caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati has lauded presidential candidate Suleiman Franjieh.
In an interview with LBCI, Mikati said that Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri and al-Marada leader Suleiman Franjieh would make "a successful duo," if the latter gets elected as president.
"Franjieh is capable of repairing all matters and can be open to the Arab world," Mikati said, adding that he can also unite the Lebanese and protect the national interests.

Mikati reasons that either Berri ("Billionairey") is the designated Shia Muslim in government or the Shia majority of Lebanon is given the power of the ballot box, whether Hezbullah likes that or not (Hezbullah obviously feeling that such empowerment would unleash Zionist rage when Israel is probably looking for just such a grand exit from history).
