Mustaqbal: Meddling with Distribution of Power Will Not Solve Govt. Dispute

The Mustaqbal bloc condemned on Tuesday the government’s practices and the ongoing “struggle for power” among its members.

It said in a statement after its weekly meeting: “Meddling with the delicate distribution of power that has been designated by the constitution will not solve the dispute.”

It explained that the government can function properly through the proper distribution of power, where one force will not be able to overpower the other.

The government crisis erupted last week when Prime Minister Najib Miqati suspended a cabinet session at the Baabda Palace over an ongoing dispute over the issue of administrative appointments.

The suspension was prompted when Free Patriotic Movement ministers walked out from the session.

Addressing the developments in Syria, the Mustaqbal bloc questioned the official authorities’ failure to respond with the people’s concerns to deploy the army along the border with Syria, noting that the army “appears to be attacking border villages instead of establishing peace.”

The Lebanese army deployed on Saturday in the northern border area of Wadi Khaled after media outlets reported that members of the rebel Free Syrian Army were present in the region.

The March 14-led opposition slammed the measures, saying that they were taken at Syria’s behest.

On Russia and China’s veto of a draft U.N. Security Council resolution on Syria, the Mustaqbal bloc said: “The Arab people will not forget or forgive such a position.”

“The two countries were better off taking the higher moral ground by thwarting the bloodshed in Syria and complying with the demands of the Syrian people,” it stressed.

They are absolutely correct. This is an M8 dominated one sided government and they keep stabbing each other in the back and fighting for more power and money, meanwhile the poor Lebanese citizen keeps in suffering.

Mustaqbal has become something of the past. Their only future is their silly name and disgusting history and lousy track record. Rejoice, decent Lebanese. Lebanon's Spring is finally achievable with these corrupt and crazy thugs and collaborators with every enemy of Lebanon gone. Halleluja.

They are better off replacing themselves with posters of Filthy Rafic and just playing a continuous recording in his own voice saying that the Syrian presence is legal, temporary and necessary? For the French-speaking crowd, they can play a continuous recording of Filth Rafic's friend, Filthy Chirac, lecturing the low-life clapping Lebanese MPs in parliament about the Syrian occupation remaining until the Paletinian problem is resolved, to which he got a standing ovation by the low-lives?

To proudly display posters of filth wherever you might be means that you, too, are filth. Just look at them.
