Saudi's al-Watan: Efforts Cannot Continue in Light of Hizbullah's Organized Gatherings
إقرأ هذا الخبر بالعربيةSaudi Arabian Foreign Minister Saud al-Faisal's recent statements that the Kingdom has abandoned the Saudi-Syrian mediation to end the Lebanese political crisis are a "loud warning bell signifying the magnitude of the Lebanese problem," reported Saudi al-Watan newspaper on Thursday.
The decisive Saudi position came as a result of Hizbullah's ignoring of the diplomatic efforts by countries keen on Lebanon's stability, security, and unity, it continued.
The mediation efforts cannot continue in light of Hizbullah's organized gatherings, such as the ones that took place on Tuesday morning, saying that they are aimed at intimidating the people, it stressed.
"The gatherings were an attempt to blackmail the Lebanese political and security institutions," the paper said.
It predicted that the gatherings are the first step in an armed coup that would eliminate all agreements and efforts to end the crisis, it concluded.
