Syrian rebels in the outskirts of Western al-Qalamoun in the Damascus province held a Hizbullah official and his wife while they were driving through the Lebanese town of Ham, the Saudi Okaz daily reported on Monday.

“Rebel factions in the outskirts of Western al-Qalamoun carried out a quality operation and were able to arrest Hizbullah official responsible for the party's armament named Hassan Murad, nicknamed Abou Abdullah, and his wife Karma Mahdi,” unnamed sources told the daily.

“The assailants infiltrated into the Lebanese town of Ham on the Eastern Mountain Range on the border with Syria and were able to arrest Abdullah and his wife while they were driving through the town,” it added.

“The rebels retreated back to the outskirts,” after the operation.

The sources added on condition of anonymity that the rebels expressed willingness to negotiate the release of the hostages based on a set of conditions that include the withdrawal of Hizbullah from several regions in western al-Qalamoun.

Hizbullah first began sending fighters in small numbers to Syria in 2012, to help protect Shiite shrines near the capital, Damascus, and has gradually escalated its involvement, dispatching fighters to ever more distant places to shore up the battered forces of President Bashar Assad.

for an iranian paid propagandist, everything is doubtful unless it comes from Al Manar or IRNA news agency.

What can I say, another E-X-C-E-L-L-E-N-T comment. I particularly enjoyed the part where you said "I have my doubts about this"

Still laughing since January 2015.

Saudi Okaz, just as credible Orient News when they claimed Assad was killed.

Thumb shab 19 September 2016, 19:07

Yes we want them to keep killing Syrians as revenge for Syrians killing Lebanese during the 29 years occupation.

I hope they will capture and kill many more. Hizbollat brought this into themselves and Lebanon.

arresting a known sectarian terrorist is not kidnapping; it is a right and a duty.

Thumb Southern...... 19 September 2016, 15:28

although this piece of news is false, a terrorist group of your environment like ISIS can't arrest but kidnap... arresting are carried out by security services, the resistance or the army, when they catch the ones that you associate with, the terrorirsts.
