Report: Geagea Will Not Visit Any Official for Talks, but Maarab's Doors Open to All

Lebanese Forces head Samir Geagea is set to chair on Tuesday the regular meeting of his party's central council, reported al-Joumhouria newspaper.
It said that he has been intensifying his talks with various LF officials as part of the latest developments in the presidential elections file and the emergence of differences with its ally, the Mustaqbal Movement, over the nomination of Marada Movement leader MP Suleiman Franjieh as president.
Geagea has decided that he will not make any visits to political officials to address the elections, added the daily.
“Doors to his Maarab residence will however remain open to all sides,” it stressed.
Geagea is a presidential candidate and the Mustaqbal's drive to nominate Franjieh as president has created differences with its ally.
Geagea had previously said that in spite of the disputes within the alliance, the March 14 camp will remain.
“The March 14 movement is a constant in our modern history, because it represents a line of thought in Lebanon, which the majority of its people believe it,” he explained.
The Mustaqbal and LF general secretariats on Monday had issued a memo to their supporters advising them against making inflammatory remarks about the other in the wake of the dispute between Hariri and Geagea.

The prerequisite is any person that has the majority support of the christians and their feudal leaders! Unfortunately its up to the feudal war lords to decide once the muslim mafia war lords also agree!

pyjama, certainly not the constitution... its the prerequisite for the tribal, mafia, political system we have in Lebanon! If Aoun has no support then it would be agreeable to have direct elections. Have 2 stages like in France... The 1st stage among the christians that will elect the 2 most popular and then the whole of lebanon to decide on the 2 candidates most popular with Christians. If as you believe Aoun has no support then he won't even make the second round... if he did then the majority of all Lebanese would certainly vote against the hated loser!

Pyjama... Now you are talking my language... Yes, this parliament is illegitimate. Who voted for this illegitimate parliamentary extension? Everyone of these MPs are illigitatmete... We need new parliamentary elections and the new parliament should then elect the President! The PM and Parliament speaker are not decided by christians... They are the popular leader or their equivalent... the president must always be some consensus weak president that has no popular christian base and is usually decided by Jumblatt the kingmaker... the leader of 5% of the population! You and I are now seeing eye to eye! When the MPs are legit then a new president can be elected! I agree 100% with you, but our politicians can only agree on extending their terms while Lebanon drowns in rubbish! All politicians are rubbish and we I believe we need the military to cleanse us!

Who cares how fluent their arabic is. Carlos Edde was the most honest politician but he could not wade in the pool infested by the likes of Berri, NAsrallah, Jumblat, and other corrupt sharks. The problem is anyone who is a like-minded shark will not be voted in by the sharks who control Lebanon.There is not even popular support for honest candidates (people gravitate to strong, wicked thugs in Lebanon).

Also what's wrong with Ziad Baroud or Damianos Khattar?

He who is affiliated with Syria in any way or any other foreigner is never to be trusted. Lebanese Christians and Lebanese Muslims need to be reminded of Bashir Gemayel's words. Dr Geagea's vision is the vision for Lebanon as a Country and for Lebanon and Lebanon only, unlike the rest, for themselves at the expense of Lebanon. Lebanon is for the Lebanese, led by a true Lebanese Christian President unaffiliated with any foreigner. God bless Dr Geagea
