Berri Says No Vote for Aoun, Holds onto 'Dignity' and Salam

Speaker Nabih Berri has revealed that he would not vote for Free Patriotic Movement leader MP Michel Aoun for considering him and the parliament illegitimate over the extension of its term last year.
In remarks to As Safir daily published on Monday, Berri expressed surprise at Aoun's continued insistence to consider the parliament illegitimate while at the same time expecting it to elect him as president.
“I personally reject this logic and refuse to vote for someone who considers me illegitimate,” said Berri.
The speaker, who also heads the Amal Movement, said that he “holds onto his dignity and the dignity of the legislature” if the FPM chief continues to stick to his stance.
Berri also defended Prime Minister Tammam Salam against a campaign launched by the FPM over its insistence to discuss the cabinet's working mechanism ahead of any other issue.
The dispute with the FPM has forced Salam to hint that he would resign.
But the speaker said he rejects any possible resignation by Salam, warning that such a decision would lead towards “destruction.”
Salam is among the best prime ministers who have reached office in Lebanon, he told As Safir.
But unfortunately, some parties that are eager to topple him, need a lot of time to be skilled in politics, Berri said.
The speaker also reiterated that the rival Lebanese officials will no longer be able to resolve the presidential deadlock.
The solution should now come from abroad, he said.
Berri stressed that the results of the nuclear deal signed between Iran and major powers will start appearing when the U.S. Congress ratifies it.

People are naive to think that herri and aoun are allies, the are actually both allies or hezballah or more accurately hezballah tools strategically used by puppet master hassan nasrallah, sometimes even against each other, to block, sabotage, impede and cause mayhem when he cannot openly do it himself.

تمنى نائب رئيس كتلة “المستقبل” النائب عاطف مجدلاني من قيادة “حزب الله” توضيح حقيقة ما جرى في بلدة مليخ الجنوبية خلال احتفال الأهالي بعيد مار الياس في باحة الكنيسة.
وقال مجدلاني:” قرأنا تفاصيل ما جرى في البلدة لجهة اقتحام عناصر من “حزب الله” باحة الكنيسة وزجر الأهالي ومطالبتهم بوقف الاحتفالات والموسيقى والشرب، لأن الموسيقى تزعج الأهالي في القرية ولأنها مخالفة لتوجيهات الحزب”.
وتابع:”هذه الرواية تحتاج الى توضيح من قيادة “حزب الله” لكي يُبنى على الشيء مقتضاه، فإذا كانت الرواية دقيقة ولا علم لقيادة الحزب بها وهي بالتالي غير موافقة على ما جرى، نتوقع منها أن تتخذ إجراءات علنية بحق المعتدين على حرية المعتقد وممارسة الشعائر الدينية والحرية الشخصية. أما إذا كانت القيادة على علم بما جرى فنطالبها بتوضيح الخلفيات”.
وسأل مجدلاني:”هل قرر الحزب منع حرية المعتقد في المناطق التي تخضع لنفوذه ومنع ممارسة الطقوس والشعائر الدينية المغايرة لطقوسه وشعائره؟” خاتماً “نحن نطالب بتوضيح حقيقة ما حصل”.

يقول كاهن الرعية الأب ألفرد حلو لـ"النهار": "في تلك الليلة شاركنا الأخوة الشيعة في قداس العيد ثمّ انصرفوا، وكما العادة السنويّة أقمنا عشاءً قروياً في ساحة الكنيسة يتخلّلها أجواء من الفرح والرقص والموسيقى، التي على ما يبدو أزعجت البعض، فأتت مجموعة من الشبان الشيعة وطلبوا من الاهالي وقف الاحتفال. دخلوا بين الأهالي وأوقفوا الموسيقى، حصل تلاسن بين الطرفين، فخاف البعض وبدأوا إخلاء الساحة. الاحتفال ينتهي عند منتصف الليل، وكانت الساعة قد قاربت الحادية والنصف، فأوقفوا الأهالي السهرة لفضّ الإشكال".
ويتابع الكاهن: "في اليوم الثاني، قدم مسؤول البلدة في حزب الله ومعه رئيس البلدية واعتذروا منا عن التصرّف الفردي الذي قامت به تلك المجموعة، منعاً لأي احتقان طائفي، خصوصاً أن مليخ تعتبر نموذجاً للعيش المشترك، ونتشارك في كلّ الأعياد".
