Sources Say Lebanese Firm Tasked with Carrying Out Presidential Survey

A Lebanese polling and research firm has been tasked with carrying out a survey proposed by the Free Patriotic Movement to help ease the presidential deadlock, al-Mustaqbal newspaper reported on Monday.
Sources told the daily that Statistics Lebanon, which was established in 1994, will ask a sample of 4,600 Christians who their candidate for the presidency is.
The sample will include Christians from different sects who will be chosen randomly, they said.
FPM leader MP Michel Aoun had proposed to organize the survey to determine which Christian party or parties are the most influential in the country.
His idea has garnered the support of Lebanese Forces chief Samir Geagea and Marada Movement leader MP Suleiman Franjieh despite his call for tasking several firms to carry out the poll.
However, the Kataeb Party has expressed reservations.
Baabda Palace has been vacant since the six-year tenure of President Michel Suleiman ended in May last year.
The rivalry between Aoun and Geagea is partly to be blamed for the presidential deadlock.
The two leaders announced last month a declaration of intent, which as a first step, will likely be put into effect through the implementation of Aoun's proposal to carry out the poll.

Aoun the claoun is doing all he can to waste time and to hope to get something. A firm can be bribed and Aoun has the cash for it. Why not go to parliament and vote and finish with this whole charade, latest of which is this silly survey. How about a survey is made cross country to ask if the people feel that Michel Aoun the claoun should now go to Deyr El Salib, or just go back to France for his last days. Since he believed that he was Napoleaon, I believe the Island of Saint Helen would be a nice final touch to end his insane days. The man is delirious, honest.

There may be something positive out of this stupid survey: Extend the logic slightly and have the Christians elect a president directly. This requires a real presidential campaign with real programs and a real debate (maybe real presidents too)... Oh, no hold on this is going too far on the land of mediocrity!

If you understood anything in math and statistics you would understand that a poll taken of 4,600 random people from all regions would actually be an accurate representation of all Christians with roughly a 95% confidence interval.
How do you think polling companies estimate election results with only a miniscule margin of error?
For example polling 4,000 random people would estimate a result with only a 1.5% margin of error.

Atheist, I believe that it is you that needs to go back to school. Since you're so heavily tainted with yellow and orange, you cannot dispute the fact that corruption does play a big part in the way of the FPM and its bosses HA. Then you tell me what's the use of this exercise, there's a constitution, there's a parliament, why can't we just go and vote? People like you should simply accept the fact that the FPM and its mentors have no shame in trying all they can to cheat, but rest assured, we know how to counter cheaters. Now open your math books.
