Nasrallah, Velayati Discuss Ways to Confront Latest Developments

Hizbullah chief Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah has discussed with the adviser of Iran's supreme leader the latest security and political developments, Hizbullah announced on Tuesday.

Nasrallah likely met on Monday with Ali Akbar Velayati, who was in Beirut on a one-day official visit.

The Hizbullah statement said Nasrallah and the Iranian official “discussed the situation in the region and the latest political and security developments, and ways to confront them.”

The meeting was attended by the delegation accompanying Velayati and Iran's Ambassador Mohammed Fathali, it added.

Velayati also met on Monday with Speaker Nabih Berri, Prime Minister Tammam Salam and Free Patriotic Movement leader MP Michel Aoun.

The Iranian official's trip to Beirut came two days after Nasrallah said jihadists from al-Nusra Front and the Islamic State group have been pushed out of large areas of Syria's Qalamoun region.

Qalamoun is a mountain range along the border with Lebanon where Syrian troops backed by Hizbullah are fighting the militants.

Getting the next set of instructions from vilayet e faqih as he has admitted that all his decisions are dictated by it.

Thumb _mowaten_ 19 May 2015, 12:55

Lol you really only hear what you want to hear, don't you?

Thumb the_roar 19 May 2015, 13:15

It seems the takfiri lovers are very cut by their losses & here they are proving it.... shiapatriot has a job to do.

Paid & bought....Naharnbet not only allows it to continue its useless & stalking comments but rather encourages it.

So glad m14 & their takfiri friends keep getting slammed.

Keep the distortion going ...all you got going for you.

(1). FT, Velayati is not here to meet with any government official but the leader of a party and militia, Sayed Hassan. Now let me reflect at least my view on this, which I believe is also shared by a great majority of the Lebanese. First and foremost, the overwhelming majority of us are flat against all forms of Takfirism and let's make no mistake over that either. But at the same time, that same majority is also against Hezbollah's involvement in the Syrian conflict and now in Yemen as well. Now this in no uncertain term means hostility or ill-will towards Hezbollah or our Shiite siblings, that same majority just wants what we've always called for, the surrender of Hezbollah's weapons and it's integration into the LAF over an agreed reasonable period of time

Thumb -phoenix1 19 May 2015, 13:28

(2). FT. I very much doubt that any reasonable Lebanese person has wanted to ask for HA's destruction, but simply for its return back to the fold. Now my dear FT, has this happened? Has HA listened? Did we Lebanese get that all too crucial transition to a contiguous political system we all seek for? People like me are moderates pretty much of the time, seeing the bigger picture of a united Lebanon where the strengths of all parties are pooled into one strong national resource, thence, who can challenge us? Unfortunately, Hezbollah as reflected by its leadership does not seem in any way interested in hearing us, neither is it interested in matters Lebanese. It goes to war with Israel based purely on its own agenda, not even consulting with the state. It goes to war in Syria and Yemen also going by the same precepts.

Thumb -phoenix1 19 May 2015, 13:32

(3). FT. Now, if a person like Mr. Velayati comes to Lebanon, under what capacity is he doing so, and under what directives? Is he a guest of the Lebanese State or of a party/militia? If Hezbollah wants to go anywhere, then fine by me, let it do so but then it should move its logistics to Iran for instance, since Hezbollah beyond any doubt doesn't act independently but under orders from Tehran, right? There are many people who cannot and will not take such stories that if Hezbollah did not intervene in Syria, by now the Takfiris would be right inside Lebanon, no ya FT, no ya habibi, it's not like that and it's not that simple either. The opposite would have been a lot better for everyone, if HA did not meddle in Syria, by today we Lebanese would be in a lot better position to meet any Takfiri that fancied an adventure here and it would have begun with NOT giving them any excuses either.

Thumb Mystic 19 May 2015, 13:36

What majority are against the Resistance Phoenix, the Lebanese Forces? Sure I believe you, you follow the Gulf masters.

Thumb -phoenix1 19 May 2015, 13:38

(4) FT. Now to Qalamoun, this area we all know is a matter of life and death to the Syrian regime's very survival, we all know why the Takfiris are trying to take it, their objectives are perfectly clear and from me at least, tough luck to them too!! FT, people like me also happen to know about the resources that Hezbollah, the Syrian regime and the Iranians are pouring over this battle. HA has about 2000 fighters there fully armed and some of its best fighters too. The Iranians too have boots on the ground and well above the usual norm. The Syrian regime has put in place its best men and logistics, every pundit knows well, if Qalamoun goes, the regime's very survival would be in jeopardy if not downright peril. That by default would also apply to HA and Iran's very presence in Syria and Iraq, so Qalamoun is absolutely to die for, for both regime and Takfiris

Thumb -phoenix1 19 May 2015, 13:45

(5). FT. So Okay, Qalamoun is now in regime hands, but in several other fronts, the Takfiris plus their allies the FSA amongst others have taken more ground, even this morning, they took more positions from the regime, so what does that tell us all? That the Syrian conflict is not about to end anytime soon and that it will bleed everyone involved, everyone. Hezbollah's resources both human and other are not unlimited, on the contrary, they are all limited. The longer HA stays in Syria, the weaker it will get, you do the sums and let us know, this war will only get worse. sad to say this, but Hezbollah is no longer Lebanese, it doesn't feel so anymore, It is anything but Lebanese.

Thumb the_roar 19 May 2015, 13:46

It seems the old man is cut by HA's continued success.

Here he is predicting with no shame once again.

you'd think after 5000 failed predictions one would hang their head in shame..

not this old goat..it continues to predict as if nothing happened.

Thumb -phoenix1 19 May 2015, 13:47

(6). FT. I bet you, sit down with Sayed Hassan and ask him if he knows how this war will end and I am sure he will better keep his silence. he could speak day in day out, such are but covers to mask reality, a bitter reality, the pompousness shown by M8 partisans, be it on this forum or elsewhere maybe but a reflection of dire times or sheer recklessness and immaturity of a people who do not wish to see further. let's all hope for the best, but now what is inevitable is this: That the State of Lebanon has already begun its long trek on its own, gradually distancing itself from the adventures of a party/militia that doesn't know when to call it quits, and that's normal, it is not independent but dependent of Tehran.

The article:
"Velayati also met on Monday with Speaker Nabih Berri, Prime Minister Tammam Salam and Free Patriotic Movement leader MP Michel Aoun."

phoenix1:
"Velayati is not here to meet with any government official but the leader of a party and militia, Sayed Hassan."

and then goes on for 6 more pages of his own fantasy, culminating in the fascinating representation where phoenix plays the role of Nasrallah in the famous scene where he is asked a question and slowly ponders it before "keeping his silence" (scratch beard and gravely gaze into the horizon here)

Thumb the_roar 19 May 2015, 14:12

HAHAHAHAHAHA

LUV your work Mowaten.

Slap slap slap....KNOCKOUT!!

Thumb Mystic 19 May 2015, 14:31

Phoenix used to be more reliable, someone that I could compromise with, now he just speaks the words of Geagea and that indeed diminished my patience with him.

Are you denying that he said that all his decisions are dictated by vilayet e faqih? Including decisions about war and peace?

Thumb -phoenix1 19 May 2015, 17:58

Mowaten, you, FT and Mystic, none of you have answered my posts except by being sarcastic. 6 pages that seem to make you uncomfortable, yet you seem to've read them all, and this is all you could come up with? 6 pages, correct, 6 pages of truth, which is what you people hate to be told. Well, you will learn to live in a changing world, period. As for the Kangaroo, in a couple of hours, you've managed to attack everyone and churn out your trolls again. Finique got you where he wanted to, to make you feel that I have a double, be careful, your next ban is due to start if you play habileh again. Just for the benefit of the doubt, let the MODS for once tell us who is trolling and who is not. You ya 7mar will come up with 9.

Thumb _mowaten_ 19 May 2015, 14:00

Norma went to do her jihad el nikah, she finally discovered all the wonders of zoophilia she always dreamt about, and she's loving it. I don't think she cares about the "boko haram" ways of modern civilization anymore, she's not coming back.
