Report: Geagea Shunned Helou but Jumblat to Contact LF Chief
إقرأ هذا الخبر بالعربيةProgressive Socialist Party leader MP Walid Jumblat has so far excluded Lebanese Forces chief Samir Geagea from his visit to top Lebanese officials after the latter refused to hold talks with presidential candidate Aley MP Henri Helou, a report said Tuesday.
Helou, who is the centrist PSP's candidate for the presidency, had contacted the LF leadership to set a date for a meeting with Geagea, al-Akhbar daily quoted PSP officials as saying.
But Helou was not given an appointment under the excuse that Geagea, also a presidential candidate, was still in mourning over the death of his father, the officials said.
The Aley lawmaker allegedly contacted again the LF leadership, which responded “Geagea is currently unable to welcome you.”
The shunning of Helou prompted Jumblat to avoid a visit to Geagea, al-Akhbar said.
The PSP leader had been visiting party leaders to discuss with them the rising terrorist threat and the presidential deadlock.
The daily quoted an LF MP as saying however that ties between the two parties were “good.”
Jumblat also justified the failure to meet with Geagea on his recent travel abroad and said he would ask for an appointment next week.
So flem you think an iranian sponsored president is better? Yes Iran has a great track record in freedom and human rights. At least hakim's loyalty lies with Lebanon.
We saw how Bassil talked to Walid Al Muallem in New York when he said " We don't need to meet, we understand each other through the eyes".
Hey flamethrower...you are one man army...in this site so many person against you and you never backdown you tweet them back...I salute your spirit..
Let's talk about the false candidate ya FT... the one that puts this country in jeopardy... once again... yes... the false candidate, but the true coward, and the true thief!
My boss was laughing so hard at your comments and because you put him in such a great mood he decided to give us all a pay raise when Aoun is elected President. So, we are all cheering for you Flamethrower!
the solution for the deadlock presidential elections is popular vote
then all presidential candidates instead of begging outside interference they will go to their electors to beg them
democracy = power to the people
Hey flamethrower...you are one man army...in this site so many person against you and you never backdown you tweet them back...I salute your spirit..
another day another dollar as flamethrower embarks on a marathon day of lies and propaganda.
You are going to die crying about the false hakim...his only mistake during the war was not to cure your cancer that is paralyzing the country and dividing the Christians by eliminating it. Are you happier now.
Flamer, I think it's better for someone to be a false hakim than a false general. Remember how the Ta'ef government dismissed Aoun as commander? Remember how all the newspapers referred to Aoun as rebel commander? Remember when he took asylum in the French embassy for 11 months? Remember when he fled to France? Real generals don't flee, they go down with their dying men just like real captains go down with their sinking ship. False generals flee, false generals rob the treasury to prepare their exile.
