Jumblat Calls on Rival Parties to End Disputes amid 'Difficult' Stage
إقرأ هذا الخبر بالعربيةProgressive Socialist Party leader MP Walid Jumblat urged on Monday Lebanese officials to put aside all political differences and seek to unify their stances to confront the “dangerous developments.”
“It's a crucial need more than ever to overcome all the acute political differences and unite our perspective to face the dangerous and swift developments before we regret it and it becomes too late,” Jumblat said in his weekly statement to al-Anbaa website.
A member of the Internal Security Forces was killed and at least 30 people were wounded in a car bombing that targeted an ISF checkpoint in the Dahr al-Baydar area on Friday.
The army recently boosted its security measures after obtaining information of a terrorist act planned to be carried out across Lebanon by a group linked to the Abdullah Azzam Brigades.
The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), which grew from the ranks of al-Qaida before splitting with the global terror network, is active in both Syria and neighboring Iraq and seeks to set up an Islamic state that straddles both countries.
Jumblat warned that the “historical variables” in the region are “unprecedented, which compels the Lebanese to organize their disputes.”
He called on the rival parties to swiftly “elect a new head of state to end vacuum and institutional paralysis during the delicate stage.”
H.K.
G.K.
just start by yourself Mr joumblat , just start thinking of the benefit of all Lebanese and Lebanon before the interest of your sect and all will be fine
btw apologies for your el jinss el 3atel is long overdue ya socialist Beik !!!!
I don't know how this country can function with politicians such as Junblatt or Aoun etc
Pity the country
All the while, Aoun thinks that he is using Hezbollah in order to make himself the President and that he can make Hezbollah go this way or that way. Really delusional.
And what Hezbollah needs is for someone very trustworthy to watch their Lebanese store while they are out engaged in sectarian wars raging in Syria and Iraq. Hezbollah is being stretched and the Lebanese , if properly led could reduce Hezbollah to size while it's fighters are out of the country on jihad missions.
For Hezbollah the wrong President in office, (read Geagea) would lead such an effort. So they have to keep Lebanon leaderless so thar while they are weak in Lebanon, as now, the government will be still weaker.
If the Lebanese had any balls, they would unite to shed themselves of Hezbollah NOW while Hezbollah is at it's weakest inside of Lebanon. But of course we are too busy with soccer, the beach, and all of the other diversions against which Hezbollah rails, but which just now they use as diversions that keep the Lebanese not focused on this historic opportunity to recover their country.
Just look, Syria is busy fighting and insurgency and Hezbollah is busy elsewhere, so why are the Lebanese moaning that they are occupied and saddled with Hezbollah??? Conditioning,my friends, the Lebanese are conditioned not to take responsibility for their country, even when the. Opportunity is present. This is an occupied people, they are occupied, even when the occupation force is away.
And Aoun, the useful fool, is keep is the country out of the starting blocs with his treasonous boycotting of electoral sessions in Parliament until the stripes on a tigers back turn into spots.
