TIME magazine correspondent Nicholas Blanford has expressed readiness to appear as a witness before the Special Tribunal for Lebanon if the court asks him to do so.

Blanford met with General Prosecutor Saeed Mirza at the Justice Palace on Monday in the presence of his lawyer despite his insistence that he did not know who carried out an interview with a suspect wanted in ex-Premier Rafik Hariri’s assassination case.

The correspondent has repeatedly claimed that TIME editors in New York have informed him that they had the text of the interview with one of the suspects.

The interview came as part of an analysis piece that Blanford wrote on the indictment published by the STL and Hizbullah’s stance from it.

His lawyer, Hussein Qazan, told An Nahar daily published Tuesday that Mirza summoned Blanford as a witness, who informed the general prosecutor that he didn’t carry out the interview.

The magazine’s management has also stressed that it “has enough evidence to confirm” that the interview did take place. It wasn’t fabricated by the tribunal either.”

Stop beating round the bush! Summon Hassounah as a witness harbouring the 4 terrorists, with the question that Geagea raised as to who instructed them to do what they did looming over his head ! Hasnt Geagea been called to answer about the church explosion in 1994? The only difference then , was that this whole case was totally fabricated, and we as a public have enough grounds today to guess who did it then! Oneissi defiantly said , 'let them come and catch me if they can', and it s a secret to nobody they can do ZERO about it ! So stop blowing hot air and looking for soft targets just to be seen doing something through totally empty moves!
